Excellent position with walks from the door and an open air swimming pool nearby. The cottage was clean and cosy with a welcome pack. Philippa was responsive to communications. The only downside was road noise for those sleeping in the front bedrooms

A wonderful property, spacious, clean, convenient. Two bedrooms with 2 twin beds, two bed rooms with Queen beds makes ample room for large familes or friends. A well equipped kitchen. The Nisa and fruit/veg stand nearby have everything one needs. Would recommend for a Peak District getaway.

This was our third trip to the same cottage and it was another fantastic holiday! The rooms are immaculate with plenty of space for our group (4 adults, 4 children). The kitchen is well stocked with glasses, crockery, cooking utensils as well as fresh bread and cake! We always feel well looked after and Pip is a fab host with a personal touch. Thank you!

I recently stayed at Hathersage, Hope Valley, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. The accommodation is beautifully and have spacious rooms that blend historic charm with modern comfort. All rooms were spotless, the bed incredibly comfortable, and the rainfall shower was a real treat after long walks. Fully equipped kitchen with some nice welcoming treats. The location is ideal—just in the middle of the Hope Valley and plenty of other hiking routes. There are couple of nice dining places in 5 min walk. This is the best place to stay if you want to cover Mam Tor or Blue John Cavern. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Peak District for walking, photography, or just a relaxing countryside break.

The cottage was large with 4 good size bedrooms, 2 with en-suites ,nice big dinning room and upstairs lounge. Large garden for kids to safely play. Great village location with some nice pubs and restaurants. Gateway to peak District although we completed a couple of good walks from the village. The proprietors left fresh bread and cake as a welcome present which was a nice touch

We enjoyed a lovely weekend in Topcroft cottage. The facilities were excellent and the cake and fresh bread much appreciated. There is parking for two cars but parking a third was a bit challenging on a busy weekend.

The property was ideal for a large extended family get together. Comfortable bedrooms and shared rooms, with nice private garden to relax in when sunny. It had all the facilities we needed and was clean throughout. Phillipa, the host, was always responsive on messages and gave us a lovely welcome gift of warm bread and cake.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and if in area again will definitely try to stay again. Thank

Lovely property with beautiful large lawned garden. The front of the house faces a busy main road which can be an issue if you are a light sleeper and want the window open. Also the two parking spaces at the front of the house are tricky to access as you have to stop the traffic. The facilities in the house are good and it was spacious enough for 7 of us. We discovered a safer route into the village via the alley at the back of the garden but it would have been good to have this pointed out in the house notes. Hathersage is a lively and pretty village with great amenities including heated open air pool and excellent butchers.

It was an annual walking holiday. A group of six women. The location was perfect in every way. Great circular walks straight from the door, a wide variety of places to eat right on the doorstep and an open air pool.
The property is well equipped, has a good sized dining table and a spacious lounge for communal gathering.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only the weather could have improved it.

A clean, comfortable house with plenty of space. However renters should be aware of different floor levels throughout the upstairs, as they are a possible trip hazard. Kitchen is well equipped. Large garden and patio area. Patio area could do with a little tlc. The owner made us feel very welcome, with home made bread and cake. If looking for a similar sized property in that area we would stay again.

The cottage is very spacious, comfortable and well situated right on the edge of the village, no more than 50yds from multiple restaurants and shops. We enjoyed 3 wonderful days in mid June, hiking and exploring the Peak District. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely 3 days staying in Topcroft cottage. All bedrooms are great sizes and having the 2 en-suites was very helpful as we were travelling as 2 families of 4. There is plenty of space for 8 people, the wood burner kept us cosy as the weather wasn’t as warm as we had hoped!
Phillipa was so kind and dropped in a freshly baked cake and bread when we arrived, these went down a storm with all.
The cottage is in Hathersage and attached to the village pharmacy. Parking is adequate for 2 cars and dogs are very welcome. It’s a great base for exploring the Peak District.

The property was in an excellent position, well equipped and very clean. Communication with the owner was excellent when we did encounter a problem with the shower which was quickly solved.
The outside patio area could do with a little maintenance to improve the overall experience as we spent a lot of time sitting and eating outside in beautiful weather and surroundings.
We felt that the provision for recycling also needed improving but otherwise the whole experience was excellent

Lovely cottage. The wood burning stove was much appreciated by all including our black Labrador! The central heating was very efficient once we’d found the boiler controls (in one of the twin rooms) Host checked in to make sure we had everything we needed but wasn’t at all intrusive. Beds very comfortable ! Can recommend the Scotsman’s Pack inn who (with some advance notice) catered for 42 of us for the Birthday meal !

The house is very spacious and well equipped. We had dogs with us and the garden was secure and a great size for them to run around.
The house is on a main road so the front bedrooms can be a little noisy, however we were all so tired from the excellent walking it didn’t really matter!

Everything was perfect. The back garden was great for the kids (7 & 10) to run around, plus nice patio set for the grown-ups to relax and watch. There was plenty of room for us all. The living room had lots of chairs, etc.
We had a great visit to Hathersage.

This spacious home was perfect for our family gatherings. Even though only 5 to 7 people stayed here on different nights, the home was perfect for all our relatives from Sheffield and Huddersfield. Nine adults and two toddlers were able to sit around the main dining room table. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans and various kitchen gadgets. There are also manuals available for everything in the kitchen. A highchair and toys made it easier for the little ones. They also enjoyed playing in the large back garden. A delicious lemon bread and a loaf of freshly baked bread in the kitchen made our arrival even more enjoyable. Pip, the owner, was very responsive to any questions. Hathersage is a lovely town with friendly people. The next time we come to the area, we would choose to stay here again!
