Hidden gem in the heart of Venice

Our stay Casa Petrarca was fantastic. The location is second to none, close to the sites but on a quiet canal. The room was large, well equipped and incredibly clean and comfortable. Valentina was a lovely host, super quick to communicate, clear instructions to get there and accommodating. Breakfast was lovely and kept us going through the day. Would definitely stay again

Nothing! The lift wasn't working so if you have limited mobility that could be a problem but it was only one set of stairs

Felt like a home away from home. The host was very friendly and kind and made sure we had everything we needed. Whenever we had a question or required something for our room, she was quick to respond. Overall 10 out of 10 experience.

The view from our room of the canal was incredible. Valentina really looked after us, and treated us like family. We have already recommended the hotel to our families for Easter (but looks like it is already busy)

Absolute gem in a perfect location for all Venice has to offer. The hotel gave details as soon as I booked of how to get there. The welcome when we arrived was lovely and informative. All the staff were amazing. Perfect trip Thankyou so much you made our family summer ❤️

Loved our stay and would definitely go back

Excellent location ! Easy walking distance to Piazza St Marco, Rialto and the Canal - transport easily accessible. The Hotel was a little “run down-old” but our little Room with a view of the canal with Gondoliers passing was lovely. The Room was serviced daily and clean. Valentina was most welcoming and helpful. The Breakfast was sufficient.

Our room was off the kitchen area and a little noisy in the mornings. The Hotel Reception area / entrance needs to be upgraded.

Quiet and nice płace in the heart of Venice.

A very nice place, lacated in the Centre of Venice (San Marco). 5 minutes from San Marco Square, 6 minutes to Rialto. Quiet and comfortable place for stay, it’s clean and well maintained. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I will come back for sure!

Unbeatable Location Steps from San Marco with Friendly Service

Hotel Casa Petrarca’s exceptional location is its greatest asset. Situated just minutes from Piazza San Marco, the hotel offers unparalleled convenience for exploring Venice’s main attractions. During our day tour, we had enough time during a lunch break to return to our room to freshen up and use the facilities — something we’ve never been able to do at other hotels due to distance. The staff was welcoming and made check-in effortless, adding to the positive first impression.

Our room was quite compact, even by European hotel standards, which meant navigating around luggage required some creativity. However, the smaller space did have one unexpected benefit: the air conditioning cooled the room quickly and efficiently. Despite the limited space, the hotel’s prime location and friendly service make it a solid choice. The convenience of being steps away from Venice’s most famous landmarks outweighs the room size constraints. We would definitely stay at Hotel Casa Petrarca again and recommend it to other travelers who prioritize location and accessibility.

The 1st night the air conditioning wasn’t working properly and it was rather noisy. The next day the host had it repaired and working perfectly.

No AC but we knew that before and there was a powerful ceiling fan that made up for it. A little unpleasant was that the smoking area was just under our window and one of the guests of the hotel was a heavy smoker.

The host was very helpful, polite, and welcoming. WiFi provided. Bed was very comfortable.

The room was very small. No tea / coffee making factities. The view was of the street alleyway. The 'hotel' stairway was very uninviting. It was not what I would consider a hotel, more like an apartment that serves breakfast. There was no proper reception area. The coffee served at breakfast was cheap instant coffee. It was very disappointing for the cost.

Extremely pricey for the size of the room we had. Small double. Never heard the term before. Paid a good amount but was extremely disappointed with the room. Hardly any room to walk without bumping into something. This should’ve been a CAD $100 room. I PAID WAYYY MORE.

The manager was very friendly and gave us an excellent list of restaurants that we made good use of. Thank you!

Our AC unit was extremely loud to the point where it seemed broken. We were in room 2, you might want to book some maintenance for it. I also appreciated having somewhere to leave our bags between the 10:30am checkout and our evening flight, however it made me uneasy having them out in the open in the downstairs lobby area (even though the front door requires a key or code). A locked cupboard or something similar would have put me more at ease.

The hotel is in an excellent location, the staff were exceptionally polite and always willing to help with anything. Our room was spotless, and having breakfast included was a great bonus. They also let us leave our luggage after check-out, which we truly appreciated.

Very cute and great location!

This property was wonderful, very homey. Small room but very cosy and all we needed for our short stay. The location was fantastic, we were right in the middle of everything, but it was still quiet at night. The shared bathroom was regularly cleaned. Self check-in process was easy to follow and the hosts were there in the morning for breakfast if you have any questions, otherwise you can contact them on easily on WhatsApp.
