There was no breakfast, but none was expected. It was close to Trader Joe's.
The floor was squeaking when the people upstairs were walking. I had to pay for parking, which wasn't expected ($5/night). I didn't understand the reason and I didn't ask for private parking.

I did not like how I was charged $15 for 3 nights of stay and my parking ticket was not able to be printed yet no one had a parking ticket which means anyone could have been parking there and those of us who paid were ignored.

The location, it was in the area i wanted to stay in
It is staffed via zoom? you check in on a zoom kiosk inside the lobby. The room was run down, the AC made a crazy noise, the smoke detector was missing, the bathroom window is broken and the hot water lasted about 10 minutes

Horrible experience. The hotel refused to take responsibility for my lost AirPods, which I accidentally left in the room after check-out. The room was cleaned and the AirPods disappeared, even though no one else stayed there.
I called multiple times and was told no one had them, despite the location showing they stayed in the hotel for days and later moved to a private residence and back. The hotel simply denied any responsibility. Terrible service

They offer prices on this app, and after you pay they send you an email canceling your reservation. Booking.com will take a long time to refund your money, so stay away from this hotel, as you can find many better ones nearby.

The location is really good, as the neighborhood has history and character as well as several cafes and unique stores. It's also close to major freeways, and central in the East L.A. area.
The hotel faces Eagle Rock blvd, with heavy traffic and lots of noise. The room was sparsely furnished, without desk, side bed or floor lamp. The carpet old and stained. The bed was very uncomfortable. There was not even a basic coffee machine in the room. They charge $5/night for parking on the premises, kind of unexpected for a motel. Check-in and check out were through a vendor machine with a video chat; you could call it efficient, but it was impersonal, and honestly made me feel nobody was there to care.

No deposit returned , scam for doing deposits and they keep the money and say they returned it

Our non smoking room reeked of cigarettes and had multiple burn spots on the carpet from people discarding their cigs..
The window blinds were broken, and the window latch was broken. Anyone could have slid it open and entered our room of they wanted to.
Management did not offer another room or compensation.
The TV had 2 channels and the remote hardly worked.

Eagle Rock is great , housekeeping is really ok
Hard to say, but fridge is almost dead, they want a „small“ fee for parking after already paid for the stay. No hairdryer, bathroom ok, not more. Both Ice dispenser and Softdrink dispenser out of order. Check in only via machine video call

It is convenient to the cafes, restaurants, and stores like Target and Trader Joe.
The parking in front is tight but there are plenty of spots in the back.

On the positive side, the remote receptionist was very polite and helpful — even though there was no in-person front desk, the service we received during both check-in and checkout was excellent. Also, the hotel is located very close to the Rose Bowl Stadium, which was the main reason for our trip, so the location was very convenient for us.
I do not recommend this hotel. The carpet in the room was dirty, the entire space felt very old, and the bathroom was in poor condition. The towels were worn out and didn’t seem properly cleaned. I also didn’t feel safe in the area, which made the stay uncomfortable. Another downside is that there is no in-person reception — all communication is done remotely with a virtual agent. That said, the agent was very polite and helpful, and provided great assistance during both check-in and checkout.

The outside of the property was beautiful.
I did not like that the rooms were not properly cleaned. The bath towels were stained. No wash cloths were provided. Housekeeping did not empty trash can or provide toilet paper when the room was cleaned after my second day there. The front desk was virtual, from India, and not very helpful.

Excellent location, especially if you are visiting Occidental College.
There are numerous cafes, shops, and restaurants within walking distance or a 5 minute drive.
You can walk to a Trader Joes.
This is a Non-smoking hotel.
I was given a room that smelled like someone had been chain-smoking in it since 1974. How could the cleaning staff not have noticed? Why was I given this room in the first place?
Anyway, I was given a cleaner room for the rest of my stay. I think I should have been refunded the first night's stay, but was so happy that I wouldn't smell smoke in my dreams, that I didn't make an issue of it.
Be prepared: there isn't anyone at the desk. Instead, there is a video monitor with which you can interact with an off-site attendant. >>Sigh...<<

Breakfast! There was no breakfast or at least no one told me about breakfast
The room reminded me of a prison cell, no bedside lamp, no place to plug anything in except a crummy powerstrip across the room, there were ants in the refrigerator, the air freshener was highly offensive and I had to take the jammed in chunk of plastic out of the air con fins and put it outside in order not to feel like I was not being poisoned. The most offensive was the demand for a $100 deposit that still hasn't been credited back to me. Check in is via a remote person on a screen. Someone should have checked the camera angle before going live. It wasn't a pretty site looking up the man's nose.

It was the only place available that was not so expensive.
The carpet in the room was sticky my feet would get stuck on carpet. There was a thin sheet and a thin blanket to cover. Was so thin was freezing at night. You can barely open door from bathroom since toilet was behind it.It was a tight space.

Just about nothing other than location which was close proximity to Occidental College where I have a student.
Horrible condition of the room. Room was very smelly - I should have paid attention to the many reviews of this property suggesting the rooms smell of mildew or cat urine. My room which was on the 1st floor by the reception certainly smelled the moment I stepped in, and even though I opened the doors and one of the window that could be opened it did not help. Bathroom was in pretty bad shape. I don’t mind the outdated nature of the property but having to sleep in a room like this is unacceptable.
Also, seemed like the property has a nickel and dime approach to their pricing. Everything is an add-on. In my case, even though the room was ready for check in about 45mins before the actual check in time I was told I’d have to pay an extra $20 to go in. Given that there is no waiting area or a toilet to use in the property general area, I was told to find a store rather than just being checked in 45min early. The staff at the front desk were ok but seemed they were not empowered to make any decisions.

It was cheap, got a same day deal but would have been upset if I had paid full price for the room

The staff were responsive and moved me to a different room at my request. It has parking. Hot water was good. It’s inexpensive and a good location, if you have a car.
The first room I was assigned smelled strongly of cat urine and was pretty disgusting. At this price point, my expectations were low, but no one should have to stay in a room like that one - I could barely breathe even with all the windows going and the fan on high. The second room I stayed in was much cleaner, but both rooms are in serious need of an update.

I liked this hotel because it felt quaint, like a little studio/home away from home. The pool was fantastic to cool off in, and was not freezing cold in the water. It was safe and quiet. The AC/Fan helped a lot as it was almost 100 degrees outside. It was a little noisy of a fan but it helps me sleep because of the white noise, so all good. 7-11 next door helps for snacks. Walking distance to Trader Joes, across the street from a bus line. 15 min ride to Glendale or Pasadena. It's right in the middle. Perfect.
I just wish my room came with a microwave, the refridgerator was excellent but when I had food, I had to throw it because I had no way to heat it up.

I didn't like anything. Your worker lied to us and because of that my son ended up having a heat stroke. I will never ever stay at your hotel and I will not recommend it to anyone. I want my money back.
Everything. Your worker first said $20 for early check-in and $100 for the security deposit. I came back and he said it was $200. Your hotel and workers are the worst. Never book with them.

The room looked like it had not been cleaned in a while, bad strong smell and also think people smoke inside. Dusty, hard bed and bad attitude during check in.
Overall and awful stay. daughter was denied entry upon arrival as we traveled separately and se had the entire booking information, PIN, etc. She was treated poorly and denied access. I was driving and stuck in traffic trying to solve the situation and they were not helpful. Eventually get to access the room after an hour just to find a very dirty, uncomfortable and smelly room.

Great location, beds are comfortable
Didn’t feel as clean as we’d hoped, we found rubbish on floor which must have been from previous guest. Towels could have been a little bigger and newer.
