Clean and comfortable, and great service!

Incredibly clean! I stay in budget motels all the time and I don't think I've ever stayed in a room this clean. Bed was very comfortable. Appreciated that they had a fridge (decent size & worked great) and a fan, which I use for white noise. I did hear a bit of sound from the neighboring room, but thankfully the other visitors were quiet. The woman who checked me in (the owner I think) was very helpful and nice. I would definitely stay here again.

The walls are a bit thin, which is standard for most motels.

Have a great Sundown Inn sunset, slumber and sunrise by Morro Rock!

On my first stay 30 years ago, I was very comfortable and relaxed. Sundown Inn is exactly how Morro Bay feels. Cozy, friendly and down to earth. I try to stay here, every year, traveling the California coast. Sundown is centrally located, close to Morro Bay Drive, the heart of restaurants and shops and the supermarket is well stocked. Sundown is very close to the Embarcadero with classic waterfront dining, more shopping and the Rock. In 2025, Sundown has brighten all the rooms for efficiency and even, more comfort. In room, both AC and heating work well. They do have extra blankets and backup heaters! Close to the bay, it does get cool at night. Every room is cozy and quiet. Sleeping here is bliss! Parking is very convenient. In the very clean rooms, plenty of space for your stuff, ie closet with suitcase stand, you can seat by the window, for eating and coffee with handy coffee maker and mini frig, and nice new big TV. The newly tiled shower is spacious with fast hot water and good water pressure. Towels are big and thick. The staff is always very courteous and helpful.

Friendly staff. Clean room. The vibrating bed was a funny relic. Most importantly, the bed was firm enough to give me a good night's rest. The location is great. Steps away from the harbor, restaurants, and the Saturday farmer's market.

Sundown Inn was a sweet place to stay while we explored Morro Bay wildlife, vistas, and wineries.

The room was clean and very pretty. It is a single story inn. We were able to bring our bikes inside. It was walking distance to Morro Rock, the Embarcadero, and Scout Coffee. The management was so friendly and eager to help us have a wonderful stay.

For Location, Comfort, & Friendliness… This is the Place!

This is my second stay and my new go-to place. The owners are very sweet and it’s obvious they care about the comfort of their guests. They make a point to say hello throughout your stay without being intrusive. The place is clean, comfortable, and the location is unbeatable! Easy, short two block walk down to the water, shops, and restaurants. Parking is convenient. Prices are very reasonable.

Walls are a bit thin and we had inconsiderate guests next to us. The owner apologised profusely but I knew it wasn’t her fault.

Another lovely stay in Morro Bay.

We've stayed here many times. The rooms are always immaculate, service is impeccable, the owners are always on site, ready to help you with anything you might need. There must be a hundred pots of succulents on the property, and they are absolutely stunning!

The hotel next door had lights that shined into our room all night. We had to close our bathroom door to keep the room dark. The room was very warm at night, even with the windows open. I've noticed this at many of the hotels in Morro Bay. Cross ventilation is not good. Fortunately every room has an air conditioning unit, so we just ran the fan.

It's a very well maintained old fashioned motor court style motel. The rooms are all decorated a bit differently and reflect the owners love of gardens and flowers. Everything is super clean and everything was in working order. Bed with comfortable and towels were thick and plush. Owner managed and customer service and friendliness is top notch. Lovely landscaping and clean clean clean.
