Room was well appointed and clean.
The spa tub jets didn't work. Also, the TV cable was out.

2nd time staying in the deluxe king suite. Love the ambiance and classic colonial style of the room and the inn. To us a very romantic setting. Room has a fireplace (gas Log) that has not been operational on either stay. Would encourage to pull the fireplace insert and put in a decent electric fireplace insert to further and complete the room ambiance.
TV old and somewhat out of date. Xfinity was down during whole stay, but, they did give us money back as a result so am OK with that. Some maintenance issues not fixed (stiff plumbing in shower and fixtures that do not work or spray well) so they do not seem to be keeping things in top notch shape.

The complimentary breakfast was tasty and good quality. Excellent location and beautiful area. Comfortable room and bed.
Slow check-in process. The building could use some repairs and a little updating.

Bed, spaciuis room layout and bathrooms.
Extra and nice chairs and couch. Lots of windows and lights.
TV small and lack of channels. No pictures on the walls. Pictures of park scenes would be nice.

Breakfast was hot and fresh every day. The room was very spacious, the views were spectacular, and the bed was comfortable.
I wish they had a no-sugar instant oatmeal available and a plant-based milk.

We’ve stayed here multiple times and something was just off. Tv not working. Tub was unclean. And breakfast was just ok.

We stayed at the Kendall Inn (Fort Harrison State Park Inn) on our way from Virginia to Iowa. We love to stay at historic hotels and this one has lots of history. The Inn is in the Fort Harrison state park, which is the grounds of the former Fort Benjamin Harrison, an army fort that opened in 1906. The army fort was an infantry training group and housed prisoners of war during World War I. Then, it was a CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) camp between the two World Wars. During World War II, the fort reached its peak capacity, serving as the largest draft inductee and reception center in the US, processing millions of soldiers. During this time, the current inn continued to operate as a large army hospital (Billings General Hospital) and also housed prisoners of war. During the early 1950s, the building operated as the fort headquarters. The fort was closed in 1991, and the building was sold and operated as a private hotel before being purchased by the state of Indiana, which reopened it as the Fort Harrison Inn. Our room was very large, with a large ensuite bathroom, and a small sitting area. The furniture was perfect for the hotel as it was furnished with large wooden pieces, which fit in perfectly with the inn's history. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows, and the room had a small refrigerator, which also had a small freezer compartment, as well as a desk and chair. One of the elevators in the inn is interesting as it is narrow and long--perfect for a hospital stretcher. Breakfast was included and was your standard hotel fare--yogurt, a couple of hot entrees, muffins, etc., but it is served in a really nice breakfast room. Admission to the state park is included with your stay. The park includes 14 miles of hiking trails and seven miles of mountain biking trails. There are picnic areas, and a golf course (separate fees). There are also several other historic buildings from the army fort era in the state park.

The Inn itself was so cozy, its gives Gilmore Girls vibes in the middle of Indiana. The room was wonderful, I had a living area and a bedroom, everything was very clean. The staff was very kind. The little town it was in was also lovely, all the buildings are brick and very upkept. The only thing I regret is not having time to explore the state park.

We were in Indianapolis for the marathon on 11/8/25. Waited till the last minute to make reservations. Fort Harrison State Park Inn still had availability and was convenient to the bypass around Indianapolis yet provided relatively quick access to downtown area.
The Inn was "dated" but retained elements of its' past elegance. The room (1 King bed) was large and comfortable as was the bathroom. Since such an older facility has the support systems in the basement, it did take awhile for the hot water to make its way to the third floor; luckily my wife likes to shower first so I had no issues with hot water. The only complaint we had concened the lack of sound insulation between the room and hallway: we could easily hear the activity in the hall even though it was not excessive.
The breakfast was nice: eggs, sasuage links, potatoes, cereal, bread products, waffles, etc.
It is not likely that we will be returning to the area, but if we do, the Inn will be a first choice consideration.
Doors need better sound insulation.
Wasted some water waiting for the hot water to arrive.
Could use two, vice one, straight-back chairs

A vending machine would have been nice but not a big deal.

The historic charm was lovely, set close to the state park.
The electric plugs and blinds were not in the best working order. Felt old.

That I was able to receive a refund.
The amenities were outdated, the room was filthy/ dusty. The plants were dusty
The floors especially underneath the beds were extremely dusty. electrical outlets weren't even in the walls properly; that is a fire hazard. The bathroom walls were dirty in the shower area. The shower curtain was dirty. The sink was old and dirty and it leaked.

It’s very nice and very homey feeling. Our room was great with the exception that there were a few cleanliness issues. We understand some things can happen on an occasion so we didn’t raise a big fuss. We did let the staff know. There was food in our refrigerator and you could tell the vacuuming wasn’t thorough. We would definitely stay there again though.
Location and character as it’s not a typical hotel.

As soon as I walked in the room I was dealing with a beeping fire alarm. I had to call the staff to come change the battery. There was old smelly food left in the refrigerator. Gross. The amount of dust and lint everywhere in the room was ungodly. I had pretty bad allergies and this was an extreme problem. When I tell you there was a blanket of dust on the bathroom mirror and sconces above it I can't even begin to describe it. There was a large amount of dirt and dust on the room floor. The bed was very comfortable but the comforter had blood on it. The chair in the bedroom had lots of hair and some stains on it. The in room coffee station had products open and dirty left in the basket. It was an odd layout for the room but it works with the small space.
Thank God I was there for scuba class and didn't have to stay in the room for long periods of time. Upon check out I spoke to Misty at the desk and told her of my problem. She did say she saw how dirty it was when her and another girl came to change the smoke detector batteries. She stated that she had to wipe off the dirt and dust just to open the smoke detector. I requested a handicap room which I did not get. There are no on site amenities besides Continental breakfast. The breakfast was adequate and changed daily. Overall everyone who worked there was extremely kind. The housekeeping needs to step up their game. It was really gross. Two out of 10. I definitely would not stay there again.
