Everything was very good during our stay.
We had a small issue with the snack vending machine, which fooled us, but we understand it was not the hotel’s fault, so we let it go. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

The location was great, and it was a quick walk to S Congress and Town Lake. Lots of restaurants and shopping close by. Free parking was nice!
The hotel smelled bad. The room was older and showed wear. The TV remote didnt work, the tub was peeling, and the pillows were so cheap. Both front doors were poorly maintained and didnt work well.

Location. Super nice gals running the front. Beds were good.
Dirty floors. In the lobby, elevator and room floors were sticky. Wore socks or shoes to move around room. Tub was nasty. Used a towel to stand in to take a shower.

Uninspiring breakfast

After, I requested a move. The staff moved me to a much better room, which was much cleaner, smelled better, had a desk, working refrigerator, and overall better layout. The location is great. It is located in the middle of South Austin, near South Congress street. It also across the street from Whataburger, Sandi's, and within walking distance of Terry Black's barbecue.
I had to ask for a first floor room, even though I requested a first floor room, when I made the reservation, and received confirmation that my request would be honored. I got a rotten first floor room. The first room had a musty smell, the refrigerator failed to cool, and the soap dish was encrusted with scum. The room also lacked a desk. Breakfast was coffee or tea or hot chocolate powder along with an oatmeal packets or a prepackaged muffin. There were only artificial sweeteners, no sugar.

Location
It was dirty, staff was rude, sheets were stained. They had no dishes, silverware, cups upon request. This property advertised breakfast but the front desk said they only have coffee and muffins. No hot breakfast. People who are living here are loud and made me not feel safe. Worst hotel experience.

Location
The flooding in the hallway. No real communication about evacuation. Staff member walked into our room the next day and then said we thought you had been evacuated. Told we would have a refund through booking.com due to the inconvenience of the power cut, flooding and time spent at night in the carpark. No refund received via booking.com.

The room was comfortable and clean. The staff were all very nice, and were always pleasant, even when I had issues with my room card multiple times. The location was perfect, just a short bus ride from HEB to stock up on supplies.
The only thing I could even slightly gripe about was that there wasn't a small oven in the kitchen. But that's not really even a complaint, actually...

Nothing at all.
As a loyal Booking.com user for over 18 years—I never imagined encountering a property in such distressing condition.
Unfortunately, the hotel was heavily occupied by unhoused individuals, and the hallways were reeked of sewage and human odours. The room itself was unclean, the shower had no hot water, and there was a persistent smell of marijuana throughout the premises. While the on-site staff were kind and did their best to help, they appeared overwhelmed and unable to resolve the issues.
The door in my room did not close properly, and the internal lock was loose, which made me feel unsafe. Additionally, the shouting and fighting from nearby rooms were constant and unbearable. The noise level was so disruptive that I decided not to order food via Uber Eats, just to avoid going down to the entrance after returning from the fair.
Several Uber drivers even advised us to change hotels due to the evident disturbances and shouting coming from inside the building—raising further concerns about our personal safety. Regrettably, most hotels were fully booked, and relocating was not a viable option.
I am attaching a photo of the floor near our room to illustrate the condition of the property. Out of respect, I am not including photos of unhoused individuals, who are of course not to blame for the situation—but I must firmly state that this property is not fit to host guests in its current condition.
This experience was deeply disappointing and falls well below the basic standards we expected.

location was convenient to where I was going. However, had to circle a couple of times to find the entrance due to no visible signage.
the "grab and go" breakfast could have at least had bananas.
Lighting in the room was terrible. very dim in main room and bathroom.
No coffee maker/coffee in room.
I know it's basically an apartment-style rental, but there are BASICS I expect in any hotel.
Staff didn't seem to listen to any of the guests ahead of me in line who expressed concerns.

The location
The air conditioners are extremely loud and pillows extremely uncomfortable. Strange smell within the bathroom, bathroom sink blocked and wear/tear within the bathroom.

The location is perfect. Within walking distance anywhere.
It's not the staffs fault but a water line busted by the lobby on our Thursday night stay. Water was coming out of the lights, all over the floor, the alarms were going off and some folks had to leave because of it. We could not shower that night or next morning......

BOOKED A ROOM WITH 2 QUEEN BEDS A MONTH IN ADVANCE BUT WAS GIVEN A SINGLE QUEEN BED. THEY SAID SORRY WE ONLY HAVE ONE ROOM WITH ONE QUEEN. HAD TO TAKE IT WE WERE ALREADY THERE 😞😞😞😞

Location is walkable to downtown. Room was clean. Price was great. Morning coffee and packaged "breakfast" items (muffins, granola bars, oatmeal) were available in a 1st floor break room.
Terrible internet. Tried to purchase enhanced wifi which failed. Room was obviously old and in need of repairs. Had to request a coffee pot and coffee for the room; cream and sugar were not provided, presumably because those were available downstairs (inconvenient if you want coffee first thing in the morning before showering and dressing). Shower water pressure was nearly nonexistent and lukewarm at best.

Lobby, Hallways and Elevator had this random smell that as very unpleasant. Also smelled like some guests were smoking weed in there rooms. Luckily the room smell semi normal.

Big rooms with good equipment including a kitchen, comfortable bed, good internet, great location near the river with bus stations nearby. We felt very well there.
The breakfast is very limited and for take-away only (mainly sweet snacks), however the fresh coffee is very good. Beverage vendor machine is a bit expensive.

The hotel smelled of smoke and the hallways were drab and run down.

Paid for 2 beds but was given a room with only 1. Was told that I would receive a 20% refund because of this, but still haven't gotten it. Showers were also cold.

The employee is always in a bad mood and on her cell phone. There is no breakfast as stated on the website. Only 2 bottles of coffee and some muffins in plastic. The place is not clean.

Here is what unfolded: We saw a guest arrange to leave a bag briefly with hotel staff while fetching luggage nearby. It seemed he wasn't met with grace; rather, his appearance apparently provoked suspicion. He was treated, it appeared, as someone unworthy – perhaps perceived as homeless – and this judgment seemed to become the justification for subsequent actions. Upon returning minutes later, he found the staff member had discarded his bag in an outside dumpster, forcing him to retrieve his belongings from the trash. The situation remained unaddressed by staff.
Witnessing this sequence – the judgment based on appearance leading to punitive action – starkly illustrates the ego's mechanics. It judges the surface, the form, creating categories of 'worthy' and 'unworthy' based on illusions. This perceived 'unworthiness' is then used to justify attack, reinforcing the belief in separation and specialness ('I am better/different than them').
"A Course in Love" directs us to see this differently for true healing. The error here isn't just the physical act of discarding belongings, but the preceding judgment based on appearance. Both the judgment and the resulting action stem from fear and the core illusion of separation from Love.
Forgiveness, therefore, extends to the whole sequence. It involves the willingness to look past the appearance that was judged, and the judgment itself, and the harsh action. It's recognizing all of it as an expression of fear, a mistaken call for the very Love and acceptance that was withheld. It requires releasing condemnation within our own minds for everyone involved.
Our shared reality as expressions of Love remains untouched by judgments of appearance or circumstance. By consciously choosing to remember this shared Identity, and meeting the witnessed prejudice and action with internal understanding rather than counter-attack, we withdraw energy from the ego's cycle.

No hot water. Cold shower.

The bed wasn't bad.
The location was close to the Palmer Special Events Center.
A long list.
The price seemed okay, but it was too high for what it was.
The floors were sticky. Afraid to not wear shoes.
The room smelled like a gym.
The counter tops were dirty.
The ac was noisy.
There weren't any utensils, plates, or cups, which made the kitchen useless.
Homeless people all around and camped behind the building.
Gang graffiti inside the hotel.
There was a community court next to the hotel.
Halls and stairs were being rebuilt.
Card readers didn't work on some outside doors.
"Breakfast" was a total joke. Old granola bars and coffee, but the coffee pot was empty.
My wife refused to take a shower after she found an old toenail on the floor in the bathroom.
I certainly didn't score any points with my wife...

The room for a single was extremely spacious and had great amenities. I chose this place for it's proximity to Town Lake where the 4th of July fireworks were going to be, and for how close it was to downtown. I did not partake in the breakfast offered because I was more about going out and about for my meals.
