Got a great last minute deal at Station House!

Came into Tahoe a day early because of a storm, and needed to make a last min booking here for me and my kid. It was an excellent value (midweek). This is basically a higher end motel, and it's close enough to the gondola / village that you can walk (perhaps a bit painful in skis). The room was very clean and I liked the decor. They hooked us up with a glass of wine for me and a soda for my kid when we arrived. The lobby is cozy and welcoming.

Both me and my son didn't like the bed. There was a thick mattress topper on it that made it super hot.

We were on our way through and stayed only one night, yet the convenience, comfort drew us to stay!

The fire side room was available in the day and evening. They provided a complimentary beverage of wine, beer, coffee or other for each guest (per night?) It was walking distance to Lake Tahoe and the staff person on duty was very helpful and friendly with great information about local resturants and places to see. The rooms were updated in the past few years and felt cozy yet modern.

The Hot tubs were not available due to limited staff and no maintenance service that night, due to no maintenance staff on site (owner lived over 100 miles away).

I wouldn’t call the beds comfortable as some have Mattress was pretty hard, and seemed to have a dip in it. Maybe time to upgrade mattresses.

Awesome place for a quick gateaway.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The lobby area was very welcoming. The comp drinks at check in were awesome. The rooms were average size. However , that shower was awesome!!!!!! It was big and the water pressure was perfect.

The only issues I had with my room was the lighting. The lighting was very dim. The room needed more brighter lamps.

STAY HERE!

It was a top notch stay at the SHI. We will definitely come back and stay here. Staff was great. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant on-site, Toulouse, was incredible.

The heating and air-conditioning unit is quite loud so you'll need to wear ear plugs. I wear them regularly so it was not a bother for me.

Great place to stay with a lot of amenities for a decent rate

Great location. Walking distance to restaurants and Heavenly gondola. Amazing cajun restaurant next door for breakfast, lunch ,dinner. Really nice lobby with fireplace-feels like a lodge. Like the continental breakfast and hot tub amenities. Room was clean and comfortable. Renovated bathroom. Pet friendly.

Seth and Maritza were amazing our whole stay. The lobby was beautiful.. fireplace and the lights were such a vibe.. they had a variety of family games and had popcorn for guest.. we played games in the lobby for about 2hrs.. we loved it. Felt real cozy and comfortable.. outside had the fire pit which was soothing.. loved the water pressure of the shower and loved how we were next to the ice machine.. Beds were comfy and felt new.. Loved & Enjoyed our stay.

Quiet, clean, close to the lake and casinos.

Regular style motel, as many others in that town, in the back streets, so pretty quiet. Some upgrades made in the few previous years, so not totally outdated. Big rooms, coffee maker, fridge, AC in each room. Close to the lake, Italian restaurant in the back yard. Continental breakfast till 11. Pool and lots of chairs available outside for a nice evening out. Reception serves wine!!!

Short, not so sweet, and South Shore is not very dog friendly.

The breakfast was a joke. The location was good.

The bed was way too lumpy and mushy. The room didn’t have a microwave. The refrigerator froze everything and I’m a diabetic, meaning it could have destroyed my insulin.

We loved almost everything. The location was super convenient. The room was clean, comfy and nicely decorated, had mini fridge, enough room around the sink. Especially enjoyed the bathroom - looked like it was recently renovated, shower had strong water pressure. The complimentary IPAs were a nice surprise. Friendly staff.

We were enjoying everything until the end. Until soon after checking out we received an email. We were surprised to see that they just charged us $60 for nothing. No explanation. No warnings. No response to our messages - we left 4 in total. That absolutely ruined our experience. We read others reviews here and in Google and learned that some people had similar experiences. Too bad and disappointing. We won’t stay there again and wouldn’t recommend others.

I am 74 and would have preferred a 1st floor room. I had to carry my luggage up steps. I could do it, but is made me nervous coming downstairs. Also i paid $100 more than my cousin. He got his room through travigo. That did not sit well with me.

A Great Find

The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. On our arrival, there were drinks and genuine hospitality. The location is excellent. Walking distance to the lake, shops, food, and entertainment. The pool and on site restaurant were a big bonus. The atmosphere is cool.

For a hotel at this price point, I expected a much better sleep experience

The location is great, the vibe is retro-charming, and the staff were friendly. Loved the soap products.

The comfort level just wasn’t there. The bed mattress was extremely uncomfortable—way too thin and worn out , and I woke up with a sore back each morning. The pillows weren’t much better; they were oddly lumpy and offered no support, which made for two very restless nights. .

OK, but probably won't return

Ground floor room location was fine. Location of hotel was great, relative to proximity to golf course and the main part of town.

The mattress on the bed is in dire need of replacement. A huge "dip" was on my side of the bed. Very uncomfortable sleeping. Grab and go breakfast in the morning was good, although the coffee was slow to come out. And when it did come out, it was cold - which was kind of a mystery. In general, the hotel and room were clean, but had the 1970s vibe going. Aside from the shower (which was very good), the rest of the place looked as if it hadn't been updated recently. Fire pit area was nice, but it was cut off at 10pm sharp - even though quite a few guests were sitting there enjoying it.
