Baymont Inn & Suites San Marcos

Parking is easy.

Pool was not in usable condition. Floor in my room was in need of sweeping.

Room was clean. Nice of the staff to make the beds and refresh the towels.

Breakfast was better the first time we stayed and that was 1 reason we stayed again. However this time nothing hot but waffles and no juice only option was coffee. The room keys would not stay active almost every time we left we had to get the key redid to get in the room.

Location

The halls were hot and had a musty smell

The location was good. Just a few exits from Texas State university. We were moving our daughter to school there. The room itself was clean and beds comfortable. There is a small microwave and mini fridge The bathroom clean but small. It conveniently has shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispensers.

It looked sketchy from outside. We thought it was not operating. I walked in and couldn’t find anyone in the front desk. Had to walk around the area calling out for assistance. We arrived around 4pm. The hallways are pretty run down and dark w stained carpets and walls. The property doesn’t feel very welcoming with it being so red n down. My daughter wanted to use the pool but it didn’t look clean. The property just looks run down and in dire need of updates. It does look like they’ve updated the rooms but just not the rest of the property. As others have mentioned that the room is small and bathroom design a bit awkward since the bathroom sink and mirror are on the side when you first walk in. No coffee maker in room. We will likely not stay here again.
