Horrible smelly room

The conference facility was nice

The rooms smell so bad, it was a strong fume of cleaning supplies on top of old yucky smell that it's trying to cover up. My daughter got really nauseous after in the room for an hour. I personally didn't like the smell either. We ended up moving to another hotel.

The staff was friendly

The room wasn't properly vacuumed, and the shower amenities were empty. When the issues were brought up to staff, we were told it would be rectified. We stayed two nights and no one came to the room to fix the issues.

Decent but probably won't be back

The bed was comfortable and staff who helped us was nice. There is a restaurant on site -- we didn't end up eating there, but it would be convenient had we needed it. They also gave us warm cookies at check-in. Nice gesture.

I specifically requested the couch bed to be set up both at the time of booking and at the time of check-in. Both time they confirmed that things will be/are set up. We got to our room, and it's not set up. Also, there was no cup, nor soap in the bathroom. For a 3-star hotel, I didn't realize that they do not have some amenities that you'd usually expect at a hotel, eg. Fridge and microwave. The scariest part was that one of the staff got into a pretty nasty argument with a customer -- I don't know exactly what happened, just overheard the staff yelled something like, Are you threatening me? You are lucky that you can sleep here tonight! Later when I got down for the beddings to set up the couch bed, the staff was still in a bad mood -- it was a busy night and the staffs seem overwhelmed/overworked.

The waiter was by himself and did not get stressed out. They need supervisors that supervise!!

The waiter was by himself at dinner but it wasn’t crowded so no biggy. Someone from the kitchen helped clean tables. The next morning, breakfast tickets were passed out, he was still the only one and no one was helping. Finally someone from banquets came and sent two employees to help with clean up and then i think another one waited tables with him. He was amazing!!

Convenient but not great

Convenient to Morton Arboretum. Didn’t use any hotel amenities. Carpet was worn and tearing away at the seams in hallways. Elevator was slow, only 2/3 working with a full hotel. Rooms are dated, no digital clock in room, tv was small compared to today’s standards and other hotels. Shower was very tight with soap/shampoo right in the middle of the wall, could have placed in another location in shower. My husband had to stand sideways in shower because of this. Toilet seat was very loose, moved every time you used it.

No fridges in all the rooms. No microwave. Floors had trash on them that was still there when we checked out. Was there for 2 days. No free breakfast. Very much in need of an update! Luggage carts looked like they were old and none matched. Like they were bought 2nd hand somewhere. Staff was not friendly at all. Seemed indifferent. Definitely not up to Double Tree by Hilton standards. Would definitely not recommend anyone staying here. Was a waste of money.

In need of major remodel. 2 star

Sorry- WHAT I DID NOT LIKE—-VERY OLD and WORN OUT. First room assigned smelled terrible. Had to move to new room. Wallpaper torn and falling off wall in bathroom. Terrible shower head. Water came out in all different directions. No shower pressure. Carpet separating at the seams in hall. NO in room refrigerator for medications. They brought us one from housekeeping. Froze everything on the lowest setting. Dangerous for our medications. Could not run the air conditioner throughout the night because the compressor was SO LOUD. Could only run the fan. No in room safe. No microwave. No free breakfast. Run down looking throughout hotel. Staff did the best they could

Bed was fine.

The place is old. Needs an upgrade. No fridge in room. You can ask for one and they said they may be able to accommodate. When allowing customers to book for some big school event they should find a way to keep the kids away from customers. They were banging on our door and causing problems.

The hotel treated us like we were a 3rd party.. That's all the front desk staff kept saying when we had an issue.. " well you know you booked through a 3rd party" I couldn't even get a printed receipt!

Wash cloth and towels had stains on them. Steam iron didn't work!
