Comfort Suites Tamarac Sawgrass

I chose this hotel for its location. The exterior face was appealing and appeared to be updated.

My room was dusty and had a musty smell. I had 2 TVs and neither worked. Full length mirrors in the rooms are needed. Please stop using Direct TV. It's unreliable.

The lobby was nicely decorated for fall. However, there was a strong scent coming from a fragrance diffuser that, unfortunately, triggered an asthma attack. We’d really appreciate it if consideration could be given to guests who have allergies or sensitivities to strong smells. The first three floors are open to the lobby. Although my room was moved to the fourth floor, I was unable to use the elevator and had to take the stairs, which was both frustrating and easily avoidable. Please be more considerate of your guests with health issues.

Excellent location! Extremely courteous and friendly staff. They knew who we were as we left and entered the premises and were always pleasant and smiling, with a kind word to say. Honestly, your staff made a hell of a difference and they would be the reason I stay there again. I’m diabetic so I didn’t have breakfast. Smelled good though. Great location!

The rooms being cleaned every three days is crazy. The sheets were not the cleanest. The tv did not work the entire time. The bathrooms could use an upgrade. The elevator is too slow and I think that housekeeping should use a service elevator.

The room has a serious moisture problem. The bathroom door hinges were rusted and literally falling off the door frame.

The location for my needs well.

We found several bugs throughout the room including on the bed. Some of them were roaches and one we suspect to be a bed bug. The room was very dirty. There were several hairs on the bed linen and on the floor. There was dried up spill of some sort under the head of the bed. You could tell it had been there for a long time. We left the room after using it for only 2 hours that night due the bug infestation. It was 1:00am. The checkout person was unable to help with a refund at that time of night. So I followed up with the manager the next day. I explained the situation and send a detailed email to her that included pictures of bugs and filth. She did her own investigation and did confirm and admit that there were roaches in the room. The GM Andrea Samaroo felt that a 50% refund was adequate for having bugs on your bed, under your bed and on the counter surface near the microwave. I think that someone who is so money hungry that they will not give a full refund to a family that did not sleep there, did not shower there and did not eat there but rather felt no option but to leave at 1:30am in the middle of the night due to bugs in the bed, is really all you need to know to make a decision about if this is the place for you. I really wish that I had done 2 things differently. I should have looked at the reviews better on multiple booking sites and I would have seen that there are ongoing bug issues. Secondly I should have followed my instincts as soon as I opened the door and saw the general filth and poor maintenance, I should have not even walked into the room but rather immediately return to the desk and ask for a refund. If this room is considered acceptable then I do not even need to see any other rooms to know what their expectations and standards are. I did contact CHOICE corporate directly. They said it was up to the GM of the hotel to offer a refund. The genuinely did not seem concerned that I was only being offered a 50% refund.

The pool on property wasn’t usable and that was one of the main reasons I picked the facility so that was disappointing. As well as the elevator wasn’t working for my entire stay on the 4th floor which meant I had to keep taking the stairs

Location

The staff, the extra fees charged for packages. If I pay to stay at a hotel, then I am free to do whatever I want as long as I am abiding by the rules of the hotel and the laws of the USA. I should not be paying for packages when they come. That’s crazy.

The best thing about the breakfast was the waffles and the yogurts. The eggs were off tasting. I didn’t like them at all.

The place was supposed to provide a room for five people, but failed to supply the needed amount of beds. The sofa bed was in bad condition and could not allow a person to sleep on. As a result five people slept on two beds, the situation which could not allow sleep.

The hotel offered to cancel the order at midnight and expected us to find another place to sleep in. This is unacceptable. Instead of finding a solution, the hotel just offered to cancel the reservation.

Close to venue

Bathroom door wouldn’t close,, noises, couch was dirty.

It was close to some things I was going to be near.

Sawgrass is a little misleading, as it was a bit outside of that area and considered Tamarac. It was loud in the lobby. Lots of people milling around. People sitting in their cars in the parking lot. It felt a little unsafe later at night and I’m not easily rattled and travel alone often. The elevator took forever. The room was just okay.

Old, filthy sofa

I loved the continental breakfast served each morning. My family and I loved the smell of a clean environment every time we entered the hotel. Beds were comfortable and the staff were well accommodating.

Our hotel room had a sofa bed in it that smelled of mold or had been wet for too long.

The location was perfect. Shopping, dining, etc everything was in the area.

We were there for a week and our room never got cleaned, even though we asked for cleaning. If the cleaning rule are rooms can only be cleaned when guests are out and rooms are only cleaned on certain days this information should be shared with the guest during check in, not after guest ask for cleaning. That was unprofessional and inconsiderate! Then there was this short Spanish guy running guest from the coffee machine like they were dogs. He was very unprofessional, poor attitude.

Location was ideal for shopping and fun activities for the kids.

There was only 1 washer working for the entire hotel while we were there. The staff seemed overworked or just not pleasant. Very matter of fact in the way they dealt with us. They could have been friendlier, more personable.

They could of have other selections for breakfast that the same food for the 4 days that I was their.

That the rooms was not cleaned every day the cleaned them every 3days and that is disgusting so I changed my sheets every day and asked for towels and wash cloths every day.... just that I will never go back their and if I am asked I will let people know. And you guys need to change the beds they are very old need new beds the whole this not just mattresses but the whole set people pay way to much to be very uncomfortable when you guys promote comfort.... 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

I was disappointed that the hotel offers cleaning only on the third day. Additionally, we were charged $200 deposit however, only $100 was refunded.

1 room only cold water, door handle broke. But in other room, shower was too hot. However did not complain after moving to 2nd room. Minor adjustment wth tv.
