Sleeping in quiet beach area in big but nice dorm rooms

The quiet surrounding straight next to the Jericho Beach. Good free parking option behind the building Big kitchen. Very clean and comfortable showers/washing rooms.

Only very big dorm rooms. Separation only with a curtain: pro of this is better air flow of course than in a sticky small room! Con is of course you hear everything and bis head lights will be on until 11pm minimum as you hear everyone all the time as well. Some bed lights would improve the head light issue directly! Compartments are missing bed lights and hangers to hang clothes and towels somewhere!

A new enjoyable experience

I love the location. It’s a little far out of the way for some things but it’s right next to the beach with the black bunnies and it’s not in a hectic part of the city

I had a knee injury that occurred after I booked. So the stairs were a bit of an issue. I could’ve rebooked somewhere else but I wanted to experience this property after reading about it online

Great value for money — highly recommended for solo travelers!

Great value for money. The bathrooms were well maintained and cleaned regularly. The reception staff were hospitable and helpful, and breakfast was served daily (though with the same options each day). The location is a bit remote, but the beach access is excellent, and all grocery options are available at Jericho Village, about a 20–25 minute walk away.

Storage is limited if you are carrying large bags. Lockers are available, but they can only accommodate hand-carry luggage or backpacks, making it difficult to store a large 32 kg suitcase if you’re arriving directly from the airport. Additionally, the bedsheet and pillow had an unpleasant odor.

Budget last resort accommodation in Vancouver

The kitchen was large. The dorm rooms are spacious.

I was assigned a huge dorm room. The place was not full at all, however, they bunched up the guests so that it was not comfortable. There was loud snoring to keep me up, and there were guests that brought in very smelly food in the dorm room to the bank next to mine and I could smell it and that also kept me up. This could be solved by spreading out the guests across the room. It is also quite far away from the nearest bus stop, and in the rain you will get wet.

Some guests came back to the dorm after midnight. They made some noises and turned on lights, which may wake up others. This is hard to avoid for dorm style so it is just FYI.

The stinch was really bad across the whole place It smells cleaner in a shelter misleading 'dorm' - it's an open hall divided by curtains and lockers!!! It was petrifying...there weren't enough chairs or towels or space for more than 4 people yet i was assigned as a 3rd on a top bunk It looked and felt like a place where people are sold for sex it was disturbing...i slept for 4 hrs and took off...i regret even not asking for money back for the night Couldn't receive money back via debit

My first experience in a hostel was here, and I found it to be a very professional hostel, especially suited for travellers and those looking to meet new people. It exceeded my expectations as a hostel, with a great location, attractive and friendly environment, and good security. I really enjoyed it, especially the daily programs and activities.

I loved the staff because they were very helpful and friendly. I really loved the abundance of facilities. So many showers, cooking and laundry facilities. There was so much space in the rooms, ability for a good amount of privacy in changing/showering areas. Separate male/female washrooms. I could go on and didn't realise just how good this place was until I stayed at the hostels I did, afterwards. Right next to the beach and transport links to downtown, as well!

I can't really say. If anything it wouldn't be down to the hostel itself, just some unruly guests but you'll get that everywhere.

An incident occurred, noticed single staff couldve dealt with guest better when guest discovered belongings of their cut lock missing. It escalated as single staff not seemingly to do anything caringly or assuring swift action. Guest called police. Discovered same staff in MALE washroom brushing teeth with girlfriend.
