Roomy, nostalgic, close to family, easy parking.

Young guests may not like the dated electrical system for their devices, but the motel acknowledges this in its information. We were fine with it.

Very strong cigarette smell in every room

Front desk tried to help

Unfortunately, had to cancel the booking after one night, because it was impossible to breath: the rooms have a strong cigarette smell, probably from outside, I changed the room, in another room there was this smell too. After I left my clothes and pajama smelled like cigarettes too. The heating didn’t work, but front desk provided me with a portable heater and helped me to cancel my stay, just for her help I give 2 stars instead of one.

Don’t stay here! Cigarette smoke and facilities issues

Good location. Surprisingly quiet

Great feeling of nostalgia. However the suite stank of cigarette smoke upon entry. Had to ask for several fans and had to keep the doors open to air it out. The heat didn’t work so the staff had to provide us with a portable heater. One of the elements on the stove didn’t work and finally the Wi-Fi didn’t work either. I really don’t recommend staying at this establishment.

Great vintage motel in expensive city

Also hot water was always there, according to previous reviews it wasn’t enough hot, but it was extremely hot during our stay I guess this motel is supposed to charge extra because a lot of movies and series were filmed here. So lovely and cozy place. Definitely will come back

Too expensive for uncomfortable beds and no AC

The location was convenient. I like history of the building.

The beds weren’t very comfortable and there wasn’t any air conditioning. We had our little dog with us but the cost of the room wasn’t worth it. We paid for an extra night and when we got back to our room, the deadbolt had been locked so we had to go to the main office to explain we paid for an extra night. Very poor customer service and no apologies either.

The location, parking, and service were all very good.

The location was good, and there was a fair balance between the fee and the service provided.

The mattresses were not flat; there was a dip in the middle, so the two people who slept there were forced to sleep closer together in the middle. It was not comfortable.

Worst bed i’ve ever slept on (didnt sleep much, was brutal). Doors rotten, handle was falling off, sink was cracked and also looked like it was about to fall off. Just overall a really terrible motel in pretty much every way. Was actually just funny how bad it was. And the inflated price for the long weekend just made it that much worse

Reception robs you the deposit

All room is broken, its need a renovation. In room for 2 people only a single bed . We were asking to change the room for have a bigger bed or 2 single beds , receptionist couldn’t help us with it . Everything dirty , hairs in bathroom. We paid 300CAD deposit, receptionist promised to us that they will unblock and refund the amount in the day of check out . When on the next day we start to call there for the refund, receptionist told us that we should wait 2 more days. After 3 days of check out - they already saying that we should wait another week .

Sweet, unpretentious old-school motel. I would give this a 10 if there was air conditioning.

The host was very helpful, and I liked the grassy area and picnic tables in front of the rooms. Very clean with old-fashioned charm.

I would have liked air conditioning. It did say on the web page that there was no air conditioning, and that seemed fine for me, but when I got to Vancouver it was warmer than usual. So I suggest 2400 install air conditioning sooner than later.

The overall feel of the motel was great. It had a vintage essence to it but not so "old" that it lacked the necessities of today's modern motels.

There was rot/mold in the vanity under the sink in the bathroom from a previous water leak, two seperate door knobs fell off in my hand, the bathroom lightbulb was burnt out, and there was a stain on the main room mattress sheet.

We liked all the friendly staff and we also got to stay by the room where some episodes of supernatural were filmed so that made the stay super fun!

No AC and the room gets really hot during the day, like stuffy old ambiance. The water in the evening for some reason gets only slightly warm mostly chilly quick shower.

I like the convenience of parking mere steps from a private entrance, no matter which suite. The vintage theme of the dated property is cool. The acceptance of pets is helpful.

Honestly there's little to be critical of. Some of the vintage, single pane windows either don't lock or take some patience to open or close.

They do not care about ppl. They are stuck with policy no matter what. They judged me as soon as I walked in the office. Refused to help me though I had a reservation Lost my mother in law that night. Wouldn't return my funds. Tried canceling tried everything. Just greedy money hungry outfit. Good value for Vancouver, a city which has become an outrageously expensive place to visit usually.

It is an old fashioned motel built in 1946. It has been well maintained, but not "updated", so it is quite charming. The pictures in the lobby indicate it is used for movie and TV sets, including filming scenes for the Bates Motel, which I find hilarious. The place is clean, and the beds are comfortable. That's all I needed.

Contractor perspective

Motel has a colorful history connected with Hollywood North that is on display in the office. The location is centrally located and accessible to public transit. There's a laundromat down the road. I liked the self-sufficiency that comes with the kitchenette and private entrance. The staff were always very helpful. Parking close to the private entrance is nice. It's a little bit like a time capsule from the late sixties and early seventies.

Self serve Laundry machines on site would be great. Some issues arise from the age of the building such as single pane wood frame windows that sometimes won't close easily to be locked, and inadequate electrical in the kitchen.
