I couldn't ask for a better place to stay!

Le Trifore is beautifully located in the heart of Ventimiglia’s atmospheric old town, yet still within walking distance of the train station, shops, and more. Literally next door there’s a great, reasonably priced restaurant (all’Orologio), so all you need to do to grab a bite is roll out of bed and head downstairs. Ventimiglia is well worth visiting in its own right, but it’s also the gateway to countless medieval towns and villages in the Ligurian hinterland: Dolceacqua, Apricale, Perinaldo, and Pigna in Valle Nervia; Airole and Olivetta in Valle Roia… too many to list here, each breathtaking in its own way, with a distinct history and culture. This might just be the most beautiful corner of the whole region. Not to mention the French riviera, which is a stone's throw away! If you’re in the mood to explore, Le Trifore is the perfect base. The apartment itself is very comfortable, well equipped with everything you might need and easy to access, and the internet connection is flawless. Mariù is a wonderful host and an exceptional person: responsive, helpful, and genuinely eager to connect with her guests beyond the perfunctory check-in/check-out. She shared so many useful suggestions that made my stay in Ventimiglia infinitely better. Wholeheartedly recommended!

A great place on the Italian Riviera ( if you don’t want to be right on the beach)

A very welcoming and well decorated apartment. Extremely clean and tidy. Plenty of electrical sockets. Wi-Fi worked very well. At 6ft in height I had to remember to duck my head to get into the bathroom but no issues. Some reviews mention noise from outside but I found it quiet and got a good night sleep. It is a 20 minute walk from Ventimiglia station. Uphill but not particularly strenuous ( I am 62). Alternatively you can get a lift from the tunnel to the old town. La Calendra beach was very nice - the entry to the path is nearby. The walk to the beach has some tricky stretches but mainly fine. The restaurant L’Orologio was very good Indeed and just outside the front door. Excellent base to stay. I visited Menton, Bordighera and San Remo easily by train.

A place with taste and potential but too hot inside

The location is interesting and historic. I have known Ventimiglia for almost 20 years, but I have never stayed in the old town before. There is a really nice restaurant just next door. The accommodation itself must be fine in colder outdoor temperatures. The owner reacts immediately.

When the outside temperature approaches 30 degrees, this accommodation becomes an oven. Yes, the owner argues that the air conditioning is not included in the price, but a standing fan won't save you. She was not clear until the second day when she sent a concrete picture of another ventilator with a tube (on the picture), which helps, but not completely. At night, it was 26 degrees in the room, and I felt sick. Next to the bed is a refrigerator that hums in your ear, then the standing fan next to the bed, and then the ventilator box with a tube hanging out of the window. Lots of noise. And the final cooling effect is mostly near the window area. This system doesn't work well. I slept only few hours per night. Secondly, the bed for two is more for one. We are both petite, but the bed is not comfortable: I kept sliding to the right because the mattress bends. It's an IKEA guest bed, definitely not for men or people over 165 cm. There was no normal kettle in the kitchen, just the Italian type for "moka coffee" made of aluminium, which not everyone prefers. The knives bend, which is dangerous when you just want to cut a cucumber. The television was not programmed and could not be programmed (I speak both Italian and English fluently). The accommodation is in a historic renovated building, which normally prevents the effect of a hot oven (I have slept in such buildings in a place near Ventimiglia). Here, however, this has not been achieved, and it is already hot on the stairs. And for some reason, no investment has been made in the air conditioning.

An Italian adventure

This is a studio apartment in an old building right in the main piazza of Ventimiglia Alta. It feels very much off the tourist trail and part of an old and picturesque town. The kitchen is very well-equipped, comparing favourably with other self-catering properties I have visited. I communicated with the hostess via WhatsApp at various times and she was helpful and friendly. There’s a great restaurant right next door and another lovely one round the corner by the Porto Nizza. You can get groceries easily in local shops. There are beaches not far away, accessible (usually!) by a lift at the other end of the street. I really enjoyed staying somewhere different and a bit quirky.

It was hot -I was there during a heatwave. It isn’t possible to install air-conditioning due to the age of the building. The hostess contacted me part way through my stay as she was concerned about this and she provided a large fan which made a massive difference. It was also quite noisy, especially on the Saturday night when there was a party at the bar nearby. However, I never travel without earplugs and these solved the issue for me. This would not be a place to stay if you are not physically fit - there are fairly steep stone steps up to the flat. Also you need to climb a fair bit to get to Ventimiglia Alta - especially if, as happened part way through my stay, the lift to the lower town is out of action. This was not a problem for me but I would highlight it for anyone with mobility issues.

Good

The apartment is super cute, in the old part of the town. There are a lot of little cafés and restaurants around and there are options to grocery shop nearby. A lift can take you down to the beach in only a few minutes. We received the check-in information well before our stay and everything went great.

The apartment gets very hot. The fan helps but is not quite enough to keep you comfortable. The apartment is not very suitable for tall people.

It is a wonderful small apartment in the heart of the old town, well furnished, with all necessary facilities and kitchen utensils.

Great place, super close to a beautiful view - there's an elevator that goes to the old city.

The place is super comfy, it's not too big but for 2 persons and for a couple of days is great. It had a queen bed and another sofa bed, the kitchen was complete and the heater worked perfectly. We contact the owner an hour before our arrival and he/she gave us directions to the lock and was super nice. It's close to the mirador and you can walk to the city center in 15 min (please consider using the elevator to go to the old town). I didn't know about it.

Good

Nice appartement. For a few days its good. Good restaurant just outside the old gate street up. Opposite a great poleteria where you can get a whole chicken and frites. Ventmiglia-alte is a great village with nice people. We liked the rumour on the street. But not late at night and midnight, but thats italy. ;-)

The bed was not so good. Much rumour in the street from early till late at night. One time even at 3.00 a water truck going to clean the street.

Clean, comfortable, good value for the money.

The room was comfortable and clean. The supermarket is just up the road. I finally found that if you walk up the hill from where I stayed, you join the main road and just opposite is the pathway to a secludes sandy beach which was wonderful and very easy to access. Just before the main road are the garbage bins for the area. It is an easy walk starting at the Cathedral down the footpath to the town center. I found a really nice and inexpensive restaurant just down the hill from the local police station when I did not feel like cooking. So it is possible to have a pleasant , relaxing and inexpensive stay here.

There was nothing that was a deal breaker. I emailed the host with any questions and they were very polite and prompt to reply. The old part of town is built on a hill but it was easily manageable, and you get to see the old town which is so interesting. It is not the flashiest apartment, not huge or elegant, but they went to trouble to upgrade the apartment recently and it shows. I did not want to pay more for luxury and elegance so I was not disappointed. I would happily stay there again. There are 14 steps to get to the apartment but nothing I could not manage, and I am 67 years young.

Consigliato

L’alloggio Le Trifore si trova in una posizione molto comoda, raggiungibile soltanto a piedi dal vicino parcheggio ideale per visitare Ventimiglia e dintorni. L’appartamento è ben arredato, pulito e curato nei dettagli, con spazi funzionali e una buona dotazione per un soggiorno confortevole. Il check-in è stato semplice e la comunicazione con l’host puntuale e disponibile. Buon rapporto qualità/prezzo, soprattutto per soggiorni brevi.

Purtroppo il soggiorno è stato parzialmente compromesso dalla presenza di un bar proprio sotto l’appartamento. Il sabato sera dalle 18.30 la musica viene tenuta a volume molto alto fino a tarda notte, rendendo difficile riposare, soprattutto per chi ha il sonno leggero o viaggia in famiglia. Questo aspetto andrebbe segnalato con maggiore chiarezza, da parte dell' host, perché incide in modo significativo sulla qualità del soggiorno. In seguito a mia segnalazione e lamentele con l'host il volume della musica è stato attenuato, non so se dovuto ad un suo intervento. Per poi chiudere alle 23.00 circa. Conclusione: Struttura valida per posizione e comfort, ma consigliata soprattutto a chi non è particolarmente sensibile al rumore notturno soprattutto se sabato sera. Con una migliore gestione o informazione sul rumore serale, l’esperienza potrebbe diventare davvero ottima.

Ottimo soggiorno in un punto caratteristico della città

Questo piccolo appartamento si trova nel centro di Ventimiglia alta, in una bellissima piazzetta. La casa è molto caratteristica e nonostante la posizione centrale io non ho mai avuto problemi nel trovare parcheggio (tenendo conto che probabilmente aprile non è un periodo di altissima affluenza). La proprietaria è stata super disponibile e gentilissima nel venire incontro alle nostre esigenze per gli orari di checkin e checkout, e si è dimostrata sempre reperibile in breve tempo al telefono. Ritiro delle chiavi tramite magicbox con codice, molto comodo per l'arrivo. In generale un ottimo soggiorno!

La camera è un pochino rumorosa rispetto ai rumori esterni - anche se i dintorni sono molto tranquilli.

Eccezionale! Nel cuore autentico di Ventimiglia vecchia

Le Trifore è un alloggio incantevole situato nel cuore di Ventimiglia Alta. L'appartamento è curato nei minimi dettagli e offre un ambiente pulito e confortevole. Affacciarsi dalle caratteristiche finestre a trifora sulla piazza principale permette di immergersi completamente nell'atmosfera storica del borgo. La posizione centrale consente di esplorare facilmente le bellezze di Ventimiglia vecchia, rendendo il soggiorno un'esperienza autentica e indimenticabile. L'host è super disponibile, gentile e attento: ci ha fatto sentire davvero i benvenuti.

Entre ce qui est indiqué et ce qui est réellement.

Soyons clair, il ne s'agit pas d'un appartement mais d'un studio comme on dit en France à savoir que le lit le bureau et la cuisine sont dans la même pièce. Concernant l'équipement, sauf erreur de ma part, il n'y a qu'un lit. Le studio est froid et humide et en mars il faut vraiment avoir recours au chauffage pour se sentir à l'aise. Pas évident d'utiliser la télé.. Lors de mon séjour, il n'y avait pas de table pour manger et concernant le café du matin il y a une petite cafetière Bialetti plutôt destinée à un expresso qu'à un café long.. La salle de bain est fonctionnelle mais le robinet du lavabo fuit à sa base et il persiste une mauvaise odeur de canalisation. Le studio n'est lumineux car très peu de soleil arrive dans la journée sur l'unique fenêtre. La cerise sur le gâteau (comme on dit en français) c'est que sur 3 nuits deux ont été très courtes dû au piqûres d'un insecte dont j'ai pu déterminé qu'il s'agit d'une punaise de lit... Ce qui ma fois gâche particulièrement le séjour.. Concernant l'accès au studio, l'escalier qui conduit au premier étage n'est pas pratique dû à l'inclinaison des marches. Je reste donc particulièrement déçu de ce séjour.

Un gioiello storico nel cuore di Ventimiglia!

Ho avuto il piacere di soggiornare a Le Trifore, un meraviglioso monolocale situato nel centro storico di Ventimiglia, all'interno dell'antico palazzo dei Giudici. Un'esperienza unica per chi ama immergersi nella storia e nell'autenticità dei luoghi! L’appartamento è perfettamente ristrutturato, mantenendo il fascino delle origini ma con tutti i comfort moderni. Gli interni sono curati nei dettagli, puliti e molto accoglienti. Il soffitto a volta e le finestre tipiche danno un'atmosfera magica, mentre la vista sui vicoli medievali è semplicemente incantevole. La posizione è perfetta per esplorare Ventimiglia, a pochi passi da ristoranti, botteghe storiche e dal mare. 🌊 La proprietaria è stata gentilissima e disponibile, pronta a consigliare i posti migliori da visitare. Se cercate un soggiorno suggestivo in una location storica, Le Trifore è la scelta ideale. Tornerò sicuramente! 😊
