Deep Clough Cottages

Hi, I just wanted to follow up now that we’ve had some time to take everything in properly. Firstly, I do want to say that we really did enjoy the area and the location of the cottage, and the cows were definitely a highlight! We also appreciate that you were trying to help us when we raised the issues, and I understand that you are managing the property on behalf of the owner. However, I do feel that there were quite a few things that made the stay disappointing, particularly considering we paid £500 for the two nights. When we arrived, there was actually some confusion over which cottage we were supposed to go into, and the person there didn’t seem to know which cottage we had booked. Once we got inside, we noticed the flies, stained towels, dust and cobwebs, the bedroom light not working and the dead bird outside. I appreciate that some of these things can be missed, and I even cleaned some of the dust myself and moved the bird, as I didn’t want to make an issue out of every little thing. The bigger concern for us was the TV and Wi-Fi. Both were advertised as being available, but the TV had a raw/exposed cable coming out of the side and wasn’t usable, and there was no Wi-Fi in the cottage. I specifically contacted you about this and you said you would get it sorted by the following day. When we returned, a new TV had arrived, which we appreciated, but it had simply been left on the doorstep and we had to bring it inside ourselves. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi still wasn’t working. I understand you said the Wi-Fi equipment hadn’t arrived in time and that you had another empty cottage next door where we could use the Wi-Fi, but unfortunately that doesn’t really resolve the issue for us. We booked and paid for the cottage expecting the advertised facilities to be available within the accommodation we were staying in. I also wanted to mention the birthday balloons.
