About this cottage rental
Bring everyone together at this 12-person Lancashire hideaway, which is nestled on a private island at the Crook o' Lune. You can stay close to home for fishing, paddling, and picnics beside the River Lune, before making the most of the property's impressive entertaining spaces for celebrations that carry on well into the evening. Venture further, and the Forest of Bowland is on your doorstep with walks galore, Gresgarth Hall Gardens (1.5 miles), and several opportunities to climb, including Clougha Pike and Grit Fell (8 miles). Lancaster city is less than 5 miles away and boasts a castle, museums, and independent food spots, or perhaps swap the city for the beach and visit Morecambe (7 miles) for a day on the sand and shingle. The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are both within 20 miles when the group fancies a full day in the hills.
Make your way over to your private island in the River Lune and admire your surroundings as you go. Step inside to be greeted by a fresh, contemporary design that is as lavish as it is relaxing. Head up the stairs to find an incredibly spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This gorgeous setting is tucked away under a vaulted ceiling with pillow seating, uniquely shaped windows, and a TV nestled on a central pillar. At the far end of the room, the bespoke kitchen runs neatly along one wall, fitted with high-quality appliances and complemented by a generous solid-oak dining table with seating for 12. Back downstairs are the five individually designed bedrooms, including a double with an en-suite shower room, a twin with an en-suite bathroom, and a king-size with an en-suite shower room, dressing room, and desk. The two remaining rooms boast a king-size with a dressing room, and a family room with super-king-size bunk beds and a fun slide. All bedrooms have TVs for long lie-ins. Completing this floor is a gorgeous bathroom with an alluring bath, shower, and WC. The party room is just as inviting as the sleeping arrangements. Head down some steps into the external party room, where you'll discover a full casino, games (such as pool, air hockey, and table football), vintage arcade games, a photobooth, karaoke, and a voice-activated dance floor with lights that react to sound. Nights in can be as long as you like, and with a stylish bar to match, there is bound to be plenty of family competition and special celebrations.
The outside of this property is arguably just as impressive, featuring a discreetly positioned hot tub, BBQ, pizza oven, and plenty of spots to relax on the outdoor furniture. Enjoy the mature trees and lawns as you gaze upon the River Lune towards Otter Island or perhaps take part in a spot of fishing right here and savour a slower pace of life.
