Boston House - A great celebration house at the heart of the English Lake District.

Good house for a large family gathering, loads of parking (5 spaces) useful. Large lounge that all can fit in and sit down. Comfortable bedrooms and spacious. We had glorious weather so our only ask would have been better outdoor furniture and more out front as thats where the sun is (south facing) only 3 chairs out front, 3 more pulled in from garden but there was 11 of us.

For a large family gathering, this house is perfect. It’s extremely well situated in the heart of Windermere, right by the station, the bus depot and Booths supermarket. The hot tub is a great addition. 5 of the 7 bedrooms are en-suite and 4 are doubles. There is plenty of parking so it’s very convenient for large groups. If anything, the bedding is feather so may not suit everyone, otherwise, the house is extremely well provided for, especially the kitchen and cooking facilities. We would definitely re-book.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Terrace, This time we stayed at Boston House. The houses are well equipped, the rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable, many of the rooms with en suite, which is always helpful when you have fourteen people. From the time of booking to leaving the property we found the owners very approachable, we arrived a little early as you can park and go for a wander and where allowed to pop some of our food into the fridge before we had access to the house which was really helpful. The Terrace is central to Windermere, and the bus and train station, making access very easy into the rest of the lakes. We would definitely book again, we had a fabulous family time.

Second time staying here and for family party celebration Highly recommend especially great if large number of guests rent more than one property Houses have everything you need and more Cinema room and hot tub great extras

We had a wonderful stay at Boston House for a hen party. We've stayed at The Terrace many times before and this time was just a fantastic. Such lovely accommodation, cosy and elegant. Amazing facilities with everything you could possibly need. The location is great for exploring the lakes and for cafe trips. Excellent all round.

Had a fantastic long weekend. Lots to do. All the rooms were amazing, great facilities in each room. Kitchen amazing, dining and front rooms spot on. One slight blemish our jacuzzi had no roof,the others were covered. But we all loved it and would return, regards Steve

Second visit for short family break. Location is ideal ,ample parking and the house has immense character and extremely well equipped.Would not hesitate to return again in the future

We enjoyed a wonderful celebratory weekend at Boston House. We would book one of The Terrace properties again, as they are ideally positioned and perfect for large parties. However, this property is tired and is in needs of some tlc. Having stayed at No 1 last year there is a notable difference and it’s a shame. The hosts are marvellous, the property is clean and we had a superb time, but it’s time for a ‘freshen up’.

This was a family holiday and we enjoyed our stay at Boston House. The property was well equipped for a large party although some of the furnishings looked well worn. We thought Boston House would benefit from a larger seating area at the front of the property like the property next door. Also, in view of the fact that dogs are welcome in all of the properties, a communal outside dog shower would be useful. The cinema room was a great idea but sadly we didn’t make use of it as it felt cold and damp as you might expect from a cellar. The hot tub was well maintained with daily checks and was a big hit with members of our party. The host was very responsive to any issues we had and was quick to sort them out. On the whole, a comfortable holiday property for large parties with dogs.

8 Adults, all work colleagues, staying together which the property is ideal for as it has effectively 1 bathroom per bedroom (some ensuite, some not) so no need to share. Property was perfect that we could eat communally, host meetings for the whole group in the living room or dining space, and get down to the lake or up into the hills to enjoy some downtime. Great house, would highly recommend. .

Lovely house, good amenities, very spacious for large family gathering, hot tub a bonus .The cinema room was also a hit with the children.

The house is very spacious and clean, though a little careworn in some parts, e.g. the lounge sofa and the bathrooms which are a bit dated. Having said this our family group of 14 loved our stay. It was great value for money and the customer service was fantastic. We called Liz with a couple of questions regarding the hot tub and she had someone on-site within minutes to help us. All in all our stay was excellent and we would book again.

Wonderful family holiday in a place we stay at regularly. The house, location and service are hard to beat. We'll be back again soon!

Lovely stay with family, extremely well equipped house everything you needed, even thermos flask, good if you go on a hike. Highly recommend.

Wonderful accommodation, close to local amenities and train station. Boston house is beautiful, plenty of space for large groups and families. Had everything we needed. Kitchen well equipped. Lovely week relaxing with the family.

15 of my family members stopped at Boston house for the weekend. Everything about it was amazing. The house is impeccable, the location is fantastic and the hosts are really helpful and knowledgeable. It really is amazing.

Stayed in Boston House for 4 nights, 10 adults, one baby and three dogs!! Had a wonderful time, the beds were very comfortable and the house itself was brilliant, plenty of room for us all. It is well equipped for large parties and perfectly placed to stroll into Windermere - 3 min walk to bus stops and trains. A big thank you to property manager Liz Watson for returning clothes I had inadvertently left in the wardrobe … returned within the week. Great property, fab weekend. Highly recommend, hoping to return soon.

What a lovely house, very clean, has everything you could wish to have for a stay in an accommodation. We loved the Cinema room, this gave our family an opportunity to choose what and where they wanted to watch films or programs etc. The house is in an amazing location right at the top of Windermere with a shopping centre, train and bus station literally round the corner. We were able to get to so many places from here. Lots of bars, restaurants, cafes, shops etc to visit in the Windermere area 10 minutes away and through bus or walking can easily get down to Bowness to do boat rides on the lake to other areas. We loved the fact it had a hot tub which we were very grateful for after a busy day. We love to recycle and were pleased to see that all our waste could be recycled by placing them in separate bins which were clearly marked. Plenty of space for our family of 11 which was great. Bedrooms were lovely and spacious and handwash provided in all of them. There were plenty of dishwasher tablets and cleaning products for us to use if we hadn't brought our own. Just a thought for the owners, as we were a family of 11 and lots of shoes/boots, maybe a couple of shoe racks would have been useful in the porch as we just piled ours up in the porch before going into the house. An amazing house, thank you for a lovely stay and we would love to come back again in the future.

We had an excellent stay at Boston House to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday 15 people from 9years to 93years old ( 4 generations) The house lived up to all expectations - would recommend to anyone looking for accommodation for large groups The Cinema Room & Hot Tub were used throughout the visit - quality extras There was plenty of kitchen equipment & utensils for our large group with 2 dish washers making washing up easy ! Location was excellent for the energetic members of our group & Booths so close by to top up food shopping if needed Once again we all had a fantastic stay - Thanks you

Very well equipped and super comfortable property ideally located in the centre of Windermere. Made for a perfect base for a family celebration.

It is not very often there is the opportunity to gather all of the close family together. Work commitments, schooling and other arrangements have always got in the way. This time the plan came together for a special 70th) birthday and we were not disappointed with our choice of venue. Boston House is very deceptive and to the unsuspecting eye it is merely a large terraced house. Once inside you are treated to plenty of space. Numerous surprises such as an already heated hot tub from minute one. A large cinema room that provided family fun and perhaps a few tears with a family video capturing times gone by. Back to the house. Ample parking space. The kitchen has all the appliances one would ever need. We hired a chef for the evening and he and his assistant found the kitchen perfect for cooking in. Heating is exceptional with 'boost' facilities on each floor. TV's are abundant and there were no complaints from 5 energetic grandchildren. The location provides 'around the corner' access to a very decent supermarket (E H Booths), a little further on and you are in Windermere with plenty of independent shops. Not a Starbucks, Costa or McDonalds in sight, although if that is what you want then perhaps a holiday in the Lake District is not for you.... Exiting onto the A591 can be a small challenge, but then again this road take you along the lake towards Ambleside and onwards. I would highly recommend Boston House and remember that it is a holiday with friends and family and not an episode of '4 in a bed' where you are seeking faults and point scoring, we can all do this and not one of us are perfect or faultless.

It can't be easy to cater for the needs of 16 people aged from 3 months to 80 but Boston House came up trumps. The house is large, comfortable and well equipped, and not too grand to restrict the wee (well behaved mostly!) ones. The hot tub and cinema room were great attractions. We will definitely return.

Boston House was the perfect venue for a gathering of family and friends for our big wedding anniversary. The owner and manager are very thoughtful and friendly. The location, layout of the house and facilities are excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to book again or recommend to others.
