The house is spacious and very clean. It had everything we needed. We really appreciated the welcome pack. A lovely touch.
It is quite close to stunning views of the cliffs.
Amenities nearby: to the right we found a bar/shop along Caminho do Atilho and to the left, further along the ER213, a restaurant.
The location is great if you have a car. We assumed we would be able to get a Bolt there from Santana, but were unable to. We now know they are few and far between in the north of the island. So, we walked there with rucksacks on our backs on the first day and a couple of times after that. Takes about 45 mins due to the steepness of the roads.
We did a fair bit of research and found that the bus 103 (new number 560) - bus stop opposite the house - goes from Santana and close to the PR18 trailhead. They are very infrequent though.
