Modern Living in Portswood House Southampton

Great units, very comfortable bed, excellent shower and kitchenette facilities. Very good location, most things you would want are available on the adjacent high street and bus travel to the station or city centre could not be more convenient. There's even a gym, available to guests.

Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Das Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Man hat uns bei der Ankunft persönlich gezeigt, wo alles ist und bei Nachfragen stehts kompetent und freundlich weitergeholfen. Man hat sich richtig wohl und wie zu Hause gefühlt. Kann ich nir weoter Empfehlen!

Overall, it was ok. Staff were super nice and welcoming. The free breakfast and coffee in the morning was good, helped save some pennies on breakfast items in the morning. Overall facilities were good, pool table and washing facilities. Useful kitchen items also included. Big supermarket stones throw away. Good travel options into central Southampton only 10 mins on the bus. Got good study facilities as well for students. For the amount I paid, it was good.

Before I came to stay, I was extremely stressed out because they were saying I needed to be a student and everywhere else was double the price. I was a student technically for a week during my 2.5 week stay and then had a course the following week but once I checked in there didn’t seem to be an issue. I’d recommend only to stay here if you’re studying at Solent/University of Southampton to avoid this stress and prove you’re a student. This needs to be clarified on the listing personally. Bed was a bit uncomfortable but manageable. Shower took ages to heat up in the morning & there’s no AC so the walkways and room was pretty hot during the night when there was hot weather.

Convenient

All the bedding stinks…I don’t know if they actually clean it or just didn’t put the detergent properly. I have to sleep with a tshirt on the pillow case to avoid the smell. As it’s a student roots it can be loud sometimes during night as student gathering downstairs
