The historic city of York (9 miles) promises a fantastic day out with attractions such as the iconic Minster, the Jorvik Viking Centre, the Roman Bath Museum, Barley Hall, and the cobbled charm of the Shambles. If it’s fresh air and open landscapes you’re after, take your pick from the Yorkshire Wolds (10 miles), the Howardian Hills (21 miles), and the North York Moors National Park (30 miles).
