Weekend family getaway

The accommodation was lovely and clean and very spacious. Was able to spread out which with 2 kids is very important. The hosts were very responsive and the property was well equiped with everthing we needed.

Perfect retreat, to unwind and enjoy family time!

What a truly memorable stay, perfectly located in the quiet beautiful countryside. Everything provided for our stay was well thought out by the owners. We will definitely be back when we visit the UK again.

Lovely stop over stay with nice breakfast. Would have been better if there was better tv or a radio/wireless speaker

Clean and comfortable. Good bedroom layout for what we wanted. Great to have food provided for breakfast, was a great touch.

Poor tv, only 1 channel and little else provided such as dvd’s or good selection of games. Many bulbs missing so some rooms dark.

Clean tidy and well equipped. Great location for us within walking distance of the wedding venue Great communication from the hosts any questions or queries quickly answered and very clear instructions for accessing property and parking

Another comfortable chair would be good as only able to sit about 5/6 (if small) people on existing sofas

Gorgeous place for a family stay

Absolutely stunning place, very well decorated, spacious, cosy and beautiful. Cleanliness was spotless! The kitchen was fully equipped and modern. The nice touch was the water bottles and ear plugs provided, and the washing machine available.

The en-suite bathroom can definitely do with a makeover. The beds and duvet/pillows could also be replaced. They are super clean but don't feel new. A bit noisy with the neighbours above. But still worth it to stay in this apartment!

Amazing Apartments

Such an amazing find. It was so nice & comfortable. There was everything you needed in the kitchen and it was like going from home to home. The apartment was really clean apart from a few cob wens i couldn't complain. The host are really helpful.

The only issue we had was figuring out the heating system. The heating went off at night and it was freezing. It took ages to work out the controls but we got there in the end.

Perfect stay

Apartment One at the Carriage House was everything we could have hoped for and more. The hosts were very welcoming and provided us with everything we needed before and during our stay. We found the apartment very spacious, clean, comfortable, warm and welcoming. The kitchen is well stocked with essentials.which is great for home cooking and there is a dishwasher which is an added bonus for cleaning up after cooking for a large group! The large dining table is a great feature as it meant we could all eat together. The rooms were well presented with fresh bedding, towels and even a small pillow chocolate! We were very grateful for the eggs, bread and cereal that were provided for breakfast and liked the idea of the honesty box for soft drinks and snacks. To the best of my knowledge there is no local shop so this box is a nice touch if you find yourself short of something! There is a pub just a couple of minutes walk away which serves food, but the chef wasn't available during our stay so we traveled a little bit further to the Nags Head pub at Askham Bryan, which serves great food and was less than 10 minutes drive from the apartment as a second option if you are staying for a longer period. In summary, we had a really relaxing stay and would definitely consider the apartment for future stays!

The property was super clean and comfy. We had everything we needed, and all were in good condition. It was so caring to have the beverage basket, though we hadn't use it. Communication from the host was effective with clear instructions. Highly recommended to friends visiting York in car.

Home away from home!

This was our second time staying at the property, and we’ll stay again when we decide to visit York again. This apartment is clean, comfortable, and beautiful.

The only thing we don’t like is the tight parking, but there is parking provided a short walk away if needed.

Great apartment and location and base to travel to surrounded areas eg York, whitby , filey.........

The apartment was lovely , clean and decorated lovely. Everything was was well thought off . Honest hamper was a lovely touch as well as the breakfast pack. Lovely location. The garden was really nice and our autistic daughter loved the fact the horse and Shetland pony would come up every now and then. Everybody was very friendly.

The guest that stayed the Monday , Tuesday were very loud,rude and disruptive but that's nothing to do with owners . The garden table and chair need updated but looked as if that was all ready in process as the had been put to the side. But really could not fault the apartment and location.

Very comfortable apartment in a wonderful quiet spot.

Breakfast items, including bread, cereals, milk and eggs were provided, and even sachets of butter and jam which was very much appreciated. We were also pleased to find a lovely pub just footsteps away for dinner.

I didn’t receive an email from Booking.com with the code for the key safe, so I had to call the owner directly.

Gorgeous unique and comfortable

Love how unique the apartment was. It had everything that we needed....we literally only had to pack our clothes. The location was spot on for the places that we had to travel to from the apartment. My favourite room was the kitchen and living area. Loved how it was all open plan and that we had load of times together as a family and friends chatting in the same room. Checking in and out couldn't have been any easier.

Couldn't really fault it other than maybe the double mattress could be upgraded as we found it too soft and was sinking down the middle. Oh and we could hear quite alot of footsteps and voices from the rooms above us.
