Comfy beds and seats, plenty of heat and hot water, helpful hosts - perfect!

Great location in a peaceful village, handy for the Park n Ride into York. Lovely well-equipped spacious apartment where we cooked meals with ease. Hosts were on hand with any questions. We booked the hot tub which was great too.

It was ok for a short stay

The location was great, there was a welcome pack ready for us with eggs, butter, jam and milk. There was plenty of hot water. There was plenty of space to sit and relax with good WiFi and tv.

The sofa and beds are not very comfortable. We thought there was a courtyard, but we couldn’t find it. There was a lot of noise from other apartments. The front door is broken and difficult to open, I thought this to be a fire hazard.

Lovely old period property which provides for excellent access to York. Great Hosts!

Lovely old property in a small village outside York. Our hosts recommended two lovely local pubs to eat at - the Nags Head and the Tickled Trout. Some breakfast food was kindly provided. This proved to be the ideal base from which to explore York.

As it is an old property, you will hear other guests on the top floor. The hosts provided ear plugs for each bedroom. The bedroom in the master is a little low, this may prove challenging for some less mobile guests, that said it is comfortable.

Great potential, nice hosts but lacks that X factor that makes me satisfied.

There was an issue with the breakfast. The milk bread and eggs were not delivered timorously as promised and required a 2nd call. The quantity delivered was not sufficient to make breakfast, milk for porridge and no oil to cook. In the owners defence, they did say we must phone them but by the time we had identified the shortfall it was too late, so no breakfast.

The extensive list of instructions, combined with the deposit for breakages seems to indicate a level of distrust, not something paying customers like. I can only assume they have been “burnt” before but you did ask the question. The basin in the en-suite bathroom got stuck, but I fixed that, maybe needs a service or deep clean as they can get stuck easily.

Lovely relaxing time with friends

It was nice to have the basics as in tea coffee milk etc included. The breakfast provided for the first morning was very good, cereal, bread , eggs , and jams and sauces.

The location was abit more remote than expected , taxi into york was £20 and also the same to nearby villages which we thought quite expensive. It didn’t spoil our stay tho , we went to relax and that’s what we did 😊

Great location, very homely and clean . lovely gesture of breakfast facilities with fresh bread, eggs , milk etc. Mini basket with drinks and crisps was very appreciated for when we arrived and very reasonably priced. Bottle of water by our bed was also a nice gesture. lovely stay!

The only very small criticism I had was that the shower in the en-suite was cold on a couple of occasions, but managed ok .

Fantastic stay and great value for money

Very clean, and modern apartment and great value. We stayed here for a few days whilst our house was being rewired and picked it as we were able to work from home- very comfortable and exactly what we were after. Definitely recommend.

The location on booking.com says 5 miles to center of York. We found it was approximately 15 miles. We used Google maps from the center of York. Google had always taken us the shortest route. So might be something to look at.

Really clean and well equipped in a lovely little village.

I hadn’t really noticed the comment about how sound travels, so with three apartments in the block one group was quite loud outside the “quiet” hours. Not the owners fault at all, just something to bear in mind and maybe needs pointing out to any groups that there are quiet hours

Great hosts, beautiful garden, facilities and little touches made the stay!

The hosts were super friendly, I asked if they had any games and they dropped off a few within 5 minutes of asking! Great selection too. The bits and bobs they left for us arriving was so sweet and just enough to get us set up in the morning. The garden is so lovely, we had our tea outside there As it was lovely weather, it was so peaceful. Shower facilities are great! Nice and powerful, they left body wash, shampoo and conditioner for us to use aswell which you don’t get many places. 100% recommend for anyone, we were so sad we only stayed the one night, I think we’ll return for a long weekend break because it was just wonderful

The sofa cushions and single bed mattresses are a little worn/well used, possibly new mattress or topper foam topper in the single beds, the mattress may be a little soft and unsupportive but everything was super clean, no marks at all ok anything, the double bed was really comfortable though. The sofa maybe needs a little extra stuffing added to make it a little more comfortable but it’s not the end of the world, it’s very well looked after visually and no marks or stains anywhere to be seen, everything is super clean, well maintained and spotless tbh.
