Tagus Views - 2BR Alfama Castle - Historic Gem

We loved the beautiful, traditional Portuguese house in a historic building. It’s spacious and is very thoughtfully decorated. The views from the balcony are breathtaking! It’s just a 2-3 mins walk to the Sao Jorge castle and the Sé Cathedral. We liked Carolina’s recommendations of places to eat nearby. We also liked our welcome goodie basket which included jam, chocolates & a bottle of wine. There is a public lift near one of the restaurants that takes you down to Pingo Doce for buying supplies. The beds were comfortable, linen clean and all appliances worked well. It was very convenient to have a washing machine. Also to note, that there was extra coffee, olive oil, salt and sugar as also extra washing powder provided. We found that very thoughtful as most other Airbnbs just provide supplies only for a day. Check-in requires you to use an app - Nukki. It’s a lil tricky until you get the hang of it and you need mobile data. We got an early check in :-) Carolina is super responsive and we loved our stay in Alfama! Thank you Carolina ❤️

I wouldn’t call these negatives but just information that is good to know. 1. Uber/ Bolt don’t pick up the exact location. Hence they drop you off/ pick up 150m away where it’s barricaded. We found this to be difficult only the first time as we had push our suitcases up a steep slope. 2. There is no Metro that goes here. 3. We didn’t see a tram/ bus stop close to the house but there is one that goes to the castle. 4. The shower needs some adjustment to get the right mix of hot and cold water. It’s great after that. So pls get in touch with the host if you can’t figure or read the house manual early on :-)
