About this bed and breakfast

The Cook Room is the cosiest of the five bedrooms, featuring a king-size sleigh bed and charming dual-aspect views from its two windows, which look over the topiary garden and the nearby orchards. The ensuite bathroom includes a shower over the bath, WC and wash basin. Decorated in gentle pink and grey tones and complemented by a beautiful wardrobe, the room exudes warmth and comfort.

Step into the charm and history of Mount Ephraim Guest Rooms, nestled within a privately owned family estate in the heart of the Kent countryside. Just an hour from London and a short drive from Faversham, Whitstable, and Canterbury, our estate is the perfect base for exploring Kent’s scenic villages, coastline, and historic landmarks.

The West Wing of the Victorian mansion, once the staff quarters of the house, has been lovingly transformed into five individually styled double ensuite guest rooms. Each room carries a piece of the estate’s history, with names honouring the original family and staff: Sir Edwyn, after the family member who built the house in 1878, alongside Butler, Maid, Cook, and Gamekeeper. Every room features modern comforts including a flatscreen TV, free WiFi, and tea and coffee making facilities, all while offering beautiful views over the Edwardian gardens and orchards.

Guests enjoy free parking on-site and year-round access to these room-only stays, with curated local recommendations for dining to enhance your Kent experience. The guest rooms are available on Fridays and Saturdays only with a minimum two-night stay and feature easy contactless self check-in/out. Rooms can be booked individually for a peaceful getaway or all together for family gatherings or group stays.

From April to September, the estate’s gardens and charming Tea Room are open to the public five days a week, 11am–4pm, and as a guest, you are welcome to enjoy the gardens at any time during your stay.

Whether you’re seeking a romantic escape, a relaxing countryside retreat, or a base to explore nearby historic towns and coastlines, Mount Ephraim Gardens Guest Rooms combine history, comfort, and natural beauty for an unforgettable stay. Experience the warmth of our heritage and the tranquillity of the Kent countryside in a unique and memorable setting.
