Simple and easy

The cottage is lovely and quirky, clean and comfortable. The location is good for Ironbridge and other attractions. It is located a short walk from the shops and takeaways if you dont want to cook.

The stairs are a little tricky and would not be good for persons of reduced mobility. The car needed to be shuttled around to accommodate the neighbour going to work; however, I understand that this is not always the case.

The property had a cosy feel and charm with the cute courtyard, exposed beams and local memorabilia, perfect for our stay to explore the countryside. I particularly liked the eclectic décor upstairs, the vintage analytical scales really amused the scientist in me. The beds were comfortable and we all got a good nights sleep. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay and the cute glassware and dishes made our meals there very enjoyable. The hosts were easy to reach and communicated well and promptly. The menus and brochures for attractions in the area were very handy.

While the property was generally clean (bedding and towels freshly laundered and the kitchen and bathroom clean), there were several aspects which could have benefitted from a deeper clean. When we got there there were open packets of fish cakes, soup, cream cheese and milk left in the fridge which we had to clean up ourselves. The kettle also needed a thorough descale, it was covered with limescale, the layer on the filter so thick you had to remove it for anything to flow through and then you would get flakes of limescale in your tea. A few of the blankets in the living room needed washing as they smelled of dog. Another small thing would be providing a few more coasters and place setting in the living room for a property that can house 6 people according to the listing. All the solid wood furniture was so beautiful so we had to make do with saucers to make sure that we didn't leave any rings. Something else that would be useful is some guidance on the local recycling since we didn't know what to put in each bin and so everything just went in general waste.

Bedrooms were lovely and clean and pretty courtyard

The parking situation is uncomfortable while the lady next door helps by moving her car, the constant checking and having to knock to get out is not what I would consider easy parking, we were unable to use the shower the plumbing facilities were awful the shower was completely block overflowed and smelt like raw sewage. The seating situation in the living room needs rearranging you need another two seater or a chair as sitting down to watch tv felt very squashed
