Forget Me Not Cottage

Location and overall feel of the cottage.

Nice Cottage, minor things like no freezer compartment in fridge or lock on bathroom door. Personal choice but did not use the downstairs seating area, it was a bit dark and damp smelling.

The location was perfect for our visit to Ironbridge. Generally a good property, tired in general decorative way, few things that could be easily sorted broken cistern lid, no plug for bathroom basin cleaning could be better there were a lot of spiders and webs,

No dislikes as such, we were there in the heatwave last week so would have been good to have a freezer or at least an icebox in the fridge, we had brought ice packs with us but were unable to re freeze them Only one tea towel and no hand towel in the kitchen. This one just a heads up for future guests, there is no shower at the property as there is not the height to stand in the bathroom again made worse by the extreme heat.

Location was good for getting into Ironbridge. Parking at the property was a bonus. Beautiful wellmaintained quirky property, great for a holiday break.

Maybe a second tea towel, unless we didn't find it!

The location of the property is excellent. You can see that this property was well decorated when it was first opened. It is large enough for a family. It has the potential to be excellent.

Unfortunately the property could do with a deep clean. The cooker was dirty as was the fridge and microwave. There was food splashed on the wall above the cooker. We ended up just ordering food in as we didn’t want to use them or the plates etc. There was also a lot of cobwebs and dust everywhere. Also the downstairs part must suffer from damp as everything down there had a musky smell. The beds were pretty low and too soft for our liking. There were a few bits damaged that could do with being repaired. Kitchen drawers etc. The most disappointing part though was that we booked this to attend a wedding and clearly stated that it was 4 adults and two children coming. We had counted on the sofa bed for two of the adults. They didn’t tell us until a few hours before check in, when we were already making our 6 hour journey there, that the couch wasn’t to be used as a bed anymore. They had left a fold out mattress/couch instead. Unfortunately it’s was very small and even the smallest adult had their feet on the floor while sleeping. Photos were taken when we got there but won’t be shown as it would be unfair when they can be easily rectified.
