We were an hour away from the property when we were told by the host it had been doubled booked by bookings.com. The host had confirmed we could check in early two months ago and money was taken from our account over a week ago. We ended up having to get emergency accommodation (not near where we needed to be for a GB sporting event) and paying out nearly double. We are still waiting for the money to be refunded to our account from Bookings.com for this. Would never use again and caused us a lot of stress and extra money!

Cottage was lovely, information given was very helpful. Couldnāt have asked for a better place to go away for the weekend. Highly recommend. Thank you!

The cottage was clean and cosy and had all amenities you could need for a short staycation.
The garden was lovely with stunning views.
The hosts were very friendly and efficient.
Kitchen facilities.
There was no parking outside and was a five minute walk away which was inconvenient, especially with a little one.
The bedrooms are on separate floors which is fine if you have older children but we have a toddler which made things a bit difficult.
The neighbours were noisy as hell which I tried to make allowances for as it was Christmas but it was difficult to sleep with loud music, drinking and the dog barking.
The internet went down but the host was straight on it and addressed the issue immediately despite it being Christmas eve.

Great location and a beautiful quirky cottage which had everything we needed for our weekend stay

Location was great, and bigger inside than the photos showed.
Could do with some blankets for the beds as we were a bit cold the first night and had to leave the heating on the next night.

Beautiful view, nice outdoor space, standard facilities provided
We ended up checking in around 7pm. We popped the heating on and had dinner and a glass of wine. About an hour later we realised the temperature had not changed and was 16 degrees. We tried a few things including the āheat boostā and left it for another hour to give it chance to heat up. There was also a strange high pitched squeak every 5-10 mins. By 9.45 it became clear the heating was āonā but it had not gotten any warmer whatsoever. I really didnāt want to bother my host but I decided to message in case we had missed something obvious. I can understand why the host could not sort anything for us that evening but it was a very cold and uncomfortable noise and we could t sleep due to the squeaking. Being quite in the countryside and having had a glass of wine we had no option but to stay and bare it. I have to say the host was not very sympathetic to the issue. They kept telling me they would sort it the next day but we had only booked one night so really that meant nothing to us in terms of rectification. When I asked how it could be resolved (I.e a partial refund bc we had not received what we paid for - a cosy night away) I was told I should have left and got myself a hotel if it was cold. Really poor customer service. Iām a business owner myself and sometimes you do have to dip into your profits to make things right when stuff happens outside of your control. Obviously not everyone feels the same but I think if you pay for something and you donāt get it thatās not right!

Nice and cosy and great location
A nice place but it would've been great if the hosts considered a welcome pack with a couple of tea bags and salt and pepper.

Lovely and clean and warm. Great location and wonderful view of the Gorge. Plenty to see and do. Lovely pub just a short stroll away food great ( The Golden Ball)
Not enough towels for 4 adults only 2 given . No bath mat in the bathroom. Front door key had trouble unlocking it from the inside. But otherwise everything just perfect š

Location was perfect. The view from the property was beautiful and quiet. It was perfectly located within a short distance to many walks, attractions and amenities. The property had everything you need for a comfortable stay. I would definitely stay again.
There was limited parking near the property and the steep walk to the property would not be appropriate for people with limited mobility or health issues. The attic bedroom had very little space for clothing if staying longer than a few days however storage in 1st floor bedroom was plentiful.

Very quiet neighbourhood, a big and well pressured shower.
A key in the front door were jamming from the inside what made difficult to open them in the morning.

Quirky property in beautiful location with breathtaking views .the back decking looking across the valley was an absolute joy to sit and look out over with a bottle of wine. The village itself is charming, parking wasnāt the issue I thought it might be and the local Golden ball dog friendly pub serves delicious reasonably priced food only few moments walk away. This is a real treat of an escape and I highly recommend a visit.

The view over the gorge from the garden, the distance from the town centre. The cottage layout was fine for us but some may find a challenge.
The steep walk back from the town centre.
The garden needs some attention. I'd read the reviews so knew what to expect.

A beautiful cottage, good location with amazing views
For the money it felt like there were definitely things missing, for example, advertised a dishwasher which wasn't there (which is fine to not have one). Other missing essential items were tea towels, an oven glove and a working extractor fan - especially as smoke alarm is so sensitive (no smoke created and it went off every time!). Hairdryer was missing. Front door is very difficult to unlock from the inside which feels like a fire hazard, similarly the bedroom door doesn't close which is also a fire hazard. Mattresses need replacing. For similar money in other properties there is also usually tea and coffee. Parking is very difficult and unreliable, parking in the suggested place requires a steep walk which could be difficult for some people.

Brilliant location, stunning views, great to have patio over gorge, sweet cottage, comfy bed, good shower, good kitchen. Lovely and quiet
Despite wording in property listing there is no parking at the cottage and had to search nearby each evening; did find it OK. We were stressing there might be no phone signal in gorge and would have liked the key box code the day before. Opening front door from inside was tricky - lock needs attention. Stairs were very narrow and windy. Would be even nicer if: weeds removed from patio and pots of flowers installed; bath mat and nicer towels provided

House was very quaint and comfortable, lovely view over the valley. Shower was very good, bathrooms clean and whole house generally well serviced. All facilities eg heating, telly, hot water, fridge etc worked well.
I may have missed the info in the advert, but we didn't fully appreciate how far away we would need to park the car. If the double bed mattress and bedding were updated, this would greatly enhance the overall standard to excellent. We were not provided with welcome/ entrance instructions until we were nearly at the property and were not aware there would not be enough towels for three people so we had to go out and buy some. These are, however, minor issues and overall we enjoyed the cottage and would stay again.

The location was beautiful and the cottage was perfect, clean, tidy and comfortable
The key is quite hard use to get in and out the property and the tv controls donāt work very well.

Fantastic location to walk to Iron Bridge near pubs and cafes. Cosy Cottage. The courtyard with table and chairs at the back has a fantastic view of the gorge
Limited parking did manage to get a space in the public parking near Golden ball pub short walk back up the hill to the cosy cottage.

Location, great to have a downstairs toilet and great decor.
The lack of attention to detail, the cleanliness, I.e. limescale around the bathroom sink tap, shower door ledge dirty, and also the towels, although clean, looked grubby and were stained. There was only 1 hand towel and no bath mat, and the towels were very small... We could of asked for more towels but didn't feel we should have to. We found the saucepan lids to require a wash before they could be used. One of the kitchen windows had co densation between the double glazing and made the place feel a bit unloved.
It's a shame, really, because it would only take a few small adjustments to bring the property up to spec.
Parking will always be an issue in Ironbridge, but the advice to park near the pub and the '3 minute' walk up the hill was slightly unrealistic. We found offloading at the door and parking up the street fine.

The cottage is quaint and comfortable. I liked the patio area which has a fantastic view. It's a brilliant location - meaning we could walk easily into Ironbridge.
We chose to stay in a cottage as opposed to camping so we had good WiFi. This was for a number of reasons including so two of my children could access school work for their upcoming A Levels and GCSES and to watch movies in the evening after hiking. The cottage was advertised as having WiFi. Unfortunately, it stopped working. I contacted the host who said she was aware of the problem from last month and it was because a direct debit needed to be set up. She then stated she would sort it and to give her a few hours. It still wasn't connected when we left despite attempted phonecalls and texts.

Very cute character cottage in stunning location.
Several areas could have been cleaner. Cigarette ends all over the garden and cigarette wrapping in childrenās bedroom. No teaspoons at all and only one tea towel.

Absolutely beautiful location. The cottage was clean and beautifully decorated. It was well stocked with everything needed to enjoy your stay.
It was very compact upstairs, with a narrow staircase between the bathroom and the bedroom. I managed to bump my head on the sloped ceiling several times. The parking is not good, you have to park 5 minutes walk away. It was difficult to even pull up to unload our luggage. This was clearly explained in advance though.

lovely little cosy cottage full of character, beautiful views from the back of the gorge. comfortable beds, and clean. Shower nice and powerful
lack of utensils in the kitchen, things like an oven glove, tongs etc would be really handy. Itās on a very steep hill so parking is a bit of a problem but we knew this and managed to bag a spot just a 2 min walk away. The garden again isnāt the best for mobility issues, kids will need supervising which wasnāt a problem but something to be aware of if you visit with small children.

Great location with amazing views of the gorge from the garden terrace. Quiet spot handy for walking down into Ironbridge could be a bit of a challenge for someone with mobility issues.
We parked near The Globe 5 minutes walk away which is an excellent pub.

it was a lovely little cottage. nice and clean. and very homely.
only one shower towel. could of left welcoming pack. ie milk. checking in& out times. 5 hours difference is way too much for a small cottage.

no parking at the property. Dripping shower was annoying, especially at night.

cute small cottage set over three floors via a winding staircase
property is very tiny and any more than 2 people would find it a squeeze! there was only 1 bath towel left for the 2 of us as well as two threadbare hand towels. No bath mat at all. cobwebs in ceiling corners and the shower head was dirty. the owner needs to make the āno dogs upstairsā rule clear in the advert for the property - this may cause problems for some owners.

We took approx 20images to send to the owners to explain our review who were really helpful. Good location for Ironbridge. We stayed as a family of 5 including a elder relative who slept on the sofa bed. The property looked lovely online & the size wasnāt the problem, the cleanliness was definitely poor. Dusty cobwebs, dead spiders(we removed 5, but gave up after this) everywhere, light fittings not working & radiators not heating upstairs (once the heating was turned on and easy to use from the instructions did warm up the downstairs&upstairs bathroom only), broken fixture in the upstairs bathroom (both bathrooms decorated well but no mind-the-step sign hence two of our family tripping to enter the downstairs loo), no guest book. We opened the mug cupboard to find lipstick and dirty covered mugs with one stuck to the cupboard with something like honey?! We had no washing up liquid or anything to wash up with so had to go back out to buy some just to make a warm drink on a cold February evening; my husband cleaning the base of the cupboard also & washing all the mugs up! The linen for the beds were poor quality as old and stained, missing buttons. I have never before left a poor review but we all felt grubby staying in what should be a lovely home style break. We didnāt get to use the balcony as planned due to having to leave to get teabags, washing up liquid and coffee as none provided. A dirty towel in the washing machine and a very old dirty sock when we pulled out the sofa bed covered in dust. We had no problem stripping our beds as requested and taking downstairs or putting out our rubbish - something we have done anyway after a lovely stay elsewhere. The sofa bed was also stained and looked tired blocking the front door to get out. My family were shocked at the level of cleanliness which previous reviews stated excellent as clearly this hadnāt occurred for some time.
