La Rochelle Heritage Beach House

The location is superb! Its as close as you can be to the sea, and there's a tunnel under the railway for beach access almost opposite the property, and there are tidal pools close. The balcony gives spectacular views over the whole of False Bay, and if you're lucky you can see whales putting on a performance while you sip your drinks. All of the rooms are of very generous sizes, and each room feels like it came out of an interior design magazine. The kitchen is large and well appointed, there is a Weber kettle BBQ outside and ample outside dining space Kalk Bay with its harbour, boutiques, and restaurants are a short walk down the road (check out the Olympia bakery for fresh bread and pastries!). There are supermarkets up Main Road in Muizenberg. Silvermine is a short drive away which offers good hiking opportunities. Buitenverwachting and Klein Constantia are also an easy drive away, giving the best wine tasting experiences in the Constantia wine region. The area feels safe and is kept clean. Overall, this place offers outstanding value given its price point and I'd recommend it to anyone.

While the location is fantastic, be aware that it is on a main road (which is unavoidable if you want a sea-front property on this side of the mountain).

Amazing location! Steps from the sean and an easy walk to shops and restaurants in Kalk bay. The house is breathtakingly beautiful, with loads of room for large groups. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen well stocked with everything you need to cook for lots of people. Laundry room with massive washing machine was a bonus, as was the outdoor shower. Madelein was a courteous host and check in was easy.

It’s an old house and drainage in the showers isn’t amazing, but it wasn’t a big problem.

A beautiful large property right on the beachfront. It has all the amenities you could need and was walking distance to Kalk Bay and Muizenberg.

The low wall does make you feel a bit uneasy about security but we didn't have any issues.
