Relaxing retreat close by the lakeside

A family home, for whatever reason made available for short term stays. I liked having the amenity of a kitchen living room etc. In a quiet residential street very close to the lake. Local amenities including . LIDL, Take Aways, a Pub and Bus Stop to Newark, all also within a short walk. I didn't meet the host but they communicated well and gave useful suggestions. I have a Polish Connection and also discovered by chance, the Polish Memorials in the Newark Cemetery about 15 minutes walk away. A convenient base near to the A1 (I had a car).

The price i paid for 4 of us to stay in the whole house was much cheaper than booking 2 hotel rooms. Plus we got the added bonus of having a full kitchen so we could store ice cream, cook breakfast in the air fryer. We didn’t use the washing machine as we were only there two nights but it was handy to have the choice. We spent most our free time in the conservatory playing air hockey. The lake is close by and we went for a walk round there. From all my years of living in Newark in the past i don’t know how I’ve never been there before. I will definitely stay here again.

Well equipped kitchen. Every thing clean. Lake close by. The games room is a good feature but sadly it was too hot to use while we were there.

Lack of bedside lights. No real place to hang clothes. One blind on front window fell apart when we tried to adjust it.

Quite area. House is okay, good kitchen facilities and okay for a night or two. Thanks for tea, coffee, milk and eggs. :-)

No sign of any wi-fi code, although there was wi-fi in the house. Sheets could have done with an iron to be honest. Perhaps some info on local eateries etc.
