About this house rental
Formerly the estate’s kitchen and servants' quarters, the apartment was transformed in 2025 into a stylish, spacious, self-contained and family-friendly haven, sleeping up to 8 guests.
Inside, you'll discover bright, tastefully decor with thoughtful home-from-home features. Whether you want to curl up with a good book, gather for a board game, or enjoy a film on the 50 inch smart TV, everything's in place for a cosy, comfortable stay.
The space includes a welcoming living area, well-equipped kitchen, and four sleeping areas : two generous en-suite master bedrooms (one with a dedicated workspace), a snug bunk room best suited to children or smaller adults, and a comfy double sofa bed in the lounge with additional clothes storage for these guests in the hall — ideal for larger families or smaller groups.
Stepping outside to your own private garden, you can enjoy views of the mature grounds often visited by deer, brown hares, or soaring buzzards. Whether sipping a morning coffee, enjoying a relaxed BBQ, or savouring a glass of wine as the sun sets, the idylic setting invites you to relax and unwind.
Traveling beyond the estate a 30-minute stroll along a beautiful Union Canal takes you into Ratho village, where you’ll find a local shop, café, pharmacy, and the popular Bridge Inn — offering canal side dining and a courtesy bus on weekend evenings for pick up and dropping home. The canal is popular with walkers and cyclists and if you take the canal east you can walk (2.5-3 hours) or cycle (45-60 mins) the 8 miles into Edinburgh.
For those seeking adventure, nearby attractions include golf courses, the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena (with soft play for little ones), Lost Shore surf park, and the enchanting 120-acre sculpture park, Jupiter Artland.
Perfectly positioned just 2.5 miles from Edinburgh Airport (yet peacefully off the flight path!), 2 miles from the local tram park & ride (30 minutes to Edinburgh city centre, with trams every 10 minutes) and just 4 miles from the M8. The Coorie Nook offers the best of both worlds — a quiet spacious countryside escape with easy access to explore Scotland whether that’s Edinburgh (including the Edinburgh Festival and Royal Highland Show) or further afield.
Please note Edinburgh Council is introducing a 5% Visitor Levy for all overnight stays from 24th July 2026. This has been factored into prices shown for July 2026 onwards and no additional charge will be added.
