Dragon Suites Luxury Serviced Apartments at Alva Street

The property is well-located, in the heart of the city. Good restaurants around with supermarket (sainsbury) and bus access nearby. The apartment was clean, fully equipped with fridge, tv, dishwasher, microwave, iron, heating, hot water/shower. The check-in/check out details/password was all smooth.

The check-in time was 4 pm and check out time was 10am - they charge £35 for additional 2 hours for check in/check out. The apartment was on the top floor and we stayed for 4 nights - we felt there wasn’t enough light/windows. The windows also are not double glazed so there is plenty of outside noise at night. There is an option to ask for cleaning but they should offer a vacuum for people to clean themselves. Not enough tissues in the apartment. Wifi lacked consistency.

In a great part of town right next to coffee shops and very spacious interior.

Got a bit warm if windows were not open, but birds were rather loud early in the morning - so a bit of a game of when to have the windows open or not.

The location (west end) absolutely PERFECT! We were within 3 min walk from tram and bus stops (you could easily walk within 15-20mins to the centre if you prefer) tickets were £6 for bus and tram (best value for money in my opinion). The Aiden suite is studio rather than an apartment I would say, you have bedroom and kitchen and living area in an open space, a very spacious very modern bathroom with great water pressure (very clean). Please bear in mind the suite is on 2nd floor (no lifts) the entrance was very well marked (very clean). Check in is usually 4pm we paid £35 to check in at 2pm (definitely worth it you can make the most of your first day!). Check out is usually 10am (we paid another £35 to check out at 12pm) again worth it in my opinion. The staff were very lovely to deal with, very quick to respond, checking in was very smooth and quick! The stay was almost faultless besides very minor issues.

The Aiden suite was almost spotless apart from finding strands of hair on the throw pillows (I suspect left by the cleaner accidentally as they placed the throw pillows on the bed, which is a very easy thing to overlook) Also as mentioned above we paid for 12pm check out but the cleaner showed up to our suite at 11.30am, almost spooked me as they accessed the suite via a code luckily we were decent hahaha otherwise would be very awkward! We ended up leaving 15mins after. There wasn’t much of a view from the Aiden suite so if you prefer a view I would advise booking an apartment on the first floor (as we were leaving the suite on that floor was being cleaned, got a quick peek and the view looks spectacular!)

The location was good. The property was neat and clean.

I found the stay to be quite mechanical and lacking in hospitality. We were travelling with a baby and requested if we could simply leave our luggage in a corner of the property for about an hour after check-out. Unfortunately, the host declined, explaining that the cleaner arrives at 10:00 AM. The only option offered was to pay an additional fee to extend access to the property by an hour. I also found the check-in and check-out timings quite unreasonable. Most properties in the area offer check-in by 3:00 PM, but this property's check-in was at 4:00 PM, while check-out was as early as 10:00 AM. Additionally, the access code expires exactly at check-out time, leaving no flexibility even for something as simple as collecting luggage. While the property itself was fine, the rigid policies and lack of flexibility, especially for families travelling with young children, made the overall experience feel impersonal and less welcoming.
