That I could book a single room in short time before arriving.

It is the first location where I found a thin mattress, maximum 10 cm high, placed on a bed frame of metal bars with about 15 cm distance between them. The mattress was stuck between the bars, it was more than uncomfortable, I could feel all those bars even though I am slim in size. I asked the owner from the first day for a decent mattress, or another mattress like that to put on top of it, he told me that it was not possible. I asked if there was another room that was possibly free and the mattresses could be exchanged, he replied that they were all the same. The next day, however, he responded to my request, to at least offer me a flat support, a cardboard that could be placed over the bars of the bed frame, so that the mattress would become bearable. The accommodation was for three nights in total and it was not convenient to waste time finding another place to stay, I have been through something like this with Booking before and it was very time consuming. The owner's motivation was: "the mattresses are for the public, if they were for personal use I would definitely use something else." In this sentence I had direct evidence of a deep commercial cynicism, evidence of his lack of empathy and professionalism, of an unacceptable double standard and above all, evidence of a total lack of respect for paying customers, who are treated as inferior. Since honest reviews are the best consumer feedback, I do not recommend this location. An accommodation unit that considers that the "public" does not deserve the minimum comfort conditions that the owner would demand for himself has a lot of work to do. I expressed this opinion to the owner, he seemed to understand and apologized. Also the window was not double-glazed, so the heat and noise from the street could not be prevented.
