Ma-Ria's Farmhouse

The beds were exceptionally comfortable - amazing mattresses and good pillows. There were ample blankets and the house didn't get as cold as we thought it would even with freezing weather. The farmhouse was bigger than expected. It was exceptionally clean from floor to ceiling to linen and curtains. It was easy to reach the hostess via telephone and other than noisy neighbours one night, a very peaceful lazy stay. Great for a weekend getaway if you dont want to take long hikes on the property. The last 3km of dirt road is really hard to navigate due to poor condition, but there are other places in Magaliesburg if one wanted to do outdoor activities. Small children would be bored, but for adults who need rest and relaxation away from the ciy, this is the perfect getaway

The kitchen light i about as bright as a candle - thankfully we had brought portable lights or we wouldn't have been able to see to cook. Both showers are terrible - the 1st bathroom shower did not get hot at all and the 2nd bathroom the shower got luke warm with a very thin trickle of water - I had to stand against the tap-side of the shower wall to get soap rinsed off. Though we never saw anyone do so, we suspect someone entered the property in the wee hours of the morning as the gate was open and my friend woke up from the noise of her bedroom window opening - the window was shut when we went to bed but wide open the next morning. On Friday by 16:30 there was still a weed eater or some loud gardening tool being used which made it challenging to carry a conversation outside - the hostess had it shut down after I called about it at 16:30

The location was easy to find and very peaceful there, it was first time taking my kids there as well and they all enjoied the stay there.

For me everything was good I have no complains whatsoever, light are running on solar and had everything i needed in the kitchen as well so really I can't complain.

The location looked so much better in person, I really enjoyed the stay. The house is big and spacious and great for traveling in groups. The pool area is beautiful even though we couldn’t swim because of the time we were there for but it was very clean. Ma-ria is great host as well, quick to respond to any needs and questions we had.

There’s no wifi at the area, which helps stay off phone for a while. Just be weary of the gravel roads to get to the house prior, especially during rainy season. There’s cats on the premises also. There isn’t anything bad, just a few things to be aware of.
