Hamish's Hideout

An excellent location for eating out with a pub across the road and the bar/ restaurant and Chinese takeaway below. And useful for us as very handy for family living nearby. We only stayed 2 nights but it had everything we required. Clean and comfortable.

It was a bit awkward for parking, although there were always spaces in streets nearby we still had to carry our bags up the street! And I'm afraid I'm not a fan of the dark blue, contoured decor!

Since booking.com likes to hide non-positive comments, this 'like' box will have a detailed review. Location - good. Facilities good. Cleanliness v good. Decor - terrible, Day comfort - good. Night comfort - terrible. Main issues are with awful dark blue decor on all walls, sockets, switches, odd paneling and ceilings (even fridge is painted!) except bathroom. Cheap looking and showing wear. Very uncomfortable beds. Shower too hot, WC smaller than an airplane loo, No 'live' TV, only your own access to streaming. With effort, this could be a great place to stay.

Dark blue paint almost everywhere, on walls and ceilings. Makes flat very dark and uninviting. Mattresses are old coil springs and v uncomfortable. Duvets and pillows need upgrading. Shower temp difficult. V small WC. No 'live' TV channels, only own access to streaming like Prime etc. Front door needs force to open. Staircase v dark and steep.
