Bela's Vana Villa Ubud by Dhananjaya Hospitality

Beautiful view, clean pool, and very comfortable stay. The bed was extra king-size (I believe) and super comfy. The area was quiet and peaceful, making it a great place to relax.

It’s a bit far from Ubud city center, so you need to take a Grab early or after 5 PM to avoid traffic jams.

The property has a stunning outlook onto the jungle valley below and is a wonderful spot to admire the view. The pool was also clean and cold, and a lovely way to refresh from the heat. It is a good place to retreat from the world and just relax. Most of the staff are friendly and helped us with our luggage which we appreciated. The internet was also good and the televisions were smart tvs.

From the moment we checked in, everything was a little odd and not quite right. It is very clear that the people working here - although friendly - do not have much experience in hospitality or hotel work. The two boys that checked us in were nice but could not speak enough English to answer any of our questions. Nothing was explained at all. When we got to the two bedroom villa, the second bedroom was still dirty and had not been made up in preparation for our arrival. The two boys had to then quickly clean it and make the bed while we waited. This has never happened in any hotel we’ve stayed at anywhere in the world. Despite being advertised on the photos, there were no pool towels or pool umbrella, which meant we had to use our bath towels for the pool and were forced to drag the pool sun beds to another spot or else we would fry in the sun. They told us the pool umbrella was broken… Everything is branded with “Ninik villa” even though it is not called that anymore which I found quite strange - why not just get new things? The villa walls itself are quite old and the bath tub was very dirty, I had to clean it. The towels are stained and old. Nobody explained about breakfast so we had to ask. Breakfast was cold every time and always 20-30 minutes late. So if you need to go somewhere make sure you ask for it to be delivered 30 minutes before you actually need it. They usually forgot to message us to ask about it, and I once received a text at midnight to ask what we wanted for breakfast - just super strange. Same with cleaning the room, on some of the days they wouldn’t ask until the night if we wanted our room cleaned, and by that time it’s too late, but they would bring new towels and water if we asked. You will also be texted via WhatsApp by at least 5-6 different staff members from their personal phones, there is not 1 main phone they use. This makes it very difficult to know who to ask for help because we do not know who is working at the time.

The villa was excellent. Very private and clean. The view was amazing. And the staff was very friendly and helped me with anything I needed.

Our stay may have been short, but it was truly full of wonderful memories. The villa was beautiful, the atmosphere peaceful, and every moment felt special. The team made us feel so welcome, and even in just a short time, we were able to relax and enjoy the experience. We will definitely carry these memories with us and hope to return again for a longer stay.
