Value for money. Older style hotel and a bit quirky. Reasonably comfortable beds, good size room. Good and well presented traditional swiss cold breakfast.

A request for early check-in was agreed to in writing before arrival (checking normally starts at 5pm). We arrived at 4.30pm and was quickly and repeatedly told 5pm only. Although we were eventually checked in early.

Location - the hotel is located on a relatively not so busy road and I could open the windows without breathing the polluted air. Also, is was 10min by foot from the bus stop Sargans Post. Passing through the old city was a very pleasant trip. I also liked the shower head and the water bottle offered in the room and 2nd coffee for the breakfast.

The room looked basic, old, outdated. I stayed 4 nights and every evening coming back there was an unpleasant smell in the room. They had deodorants all over the halls and in the room, which is not a good sign. The room was very cold, I needed two covers to pass the first two nights before they started the heating. The breakfast was basic, with limited choice, similar in a way to the room. No hot water of coffee in the rooms, no air conditioning, very limited heating. TV screen was small, one of the lamps by the bead was not working. Overall not a cozy, comfortable feeling, nothing to make you want come back again. I will look for a different option next time, even if a bit more expensive.
