Schweizerhof

Room was very comfortable, breakfast was expansive. Also fantastic they had the key box, so I could arrive at 10pm and access the room simply. It’s always a stress if you have an afternoon flight trying to get to hotels before the reception closes, this was fantastic. I used it as a base to start my multi-day hike, so also great there was a huge co-op just around the corner for buying supplies!

Everything was perfect. Location is splendid, on the way of bus lines in the direction of the mountain. Easy self check-in with abondant instructions by host on the platform/mail. Enormous, tidy rooms with comfortable beds. You could always feel the support from their other hotel in Sargans. Long-term parking close to the railway station, even for the days you are not there, was the key issue for me.

This little but cozy hotel is located in Mels, a very beautiful town where without exception has a spectacular view of the mountains. The hotel conveniently has safe free parking just one block away. The privacy was absolute and the service beyond expectations. When I return to Switzerland, I will choose Schweizerhof once again to start my journey through the Alps.

I speculate that because of the traditional construction the electrical outlets are not compatible with the rest of Europe, therefore is important to carry adaptors if one does not want to run out of charge.

Location

Breakfast was very basic. Very nice Service, but the Coffee from a padmachine. It was very hot in the Summer, even in night the house/room was very hot. only a little fan was provided. For this price i would expect more effort for cooling or even an AC.
