The location was beside the wineries and distilleries! Area for walking your dog too.
We had some trouble with frozen pipes due to no heat upon arrival. Owner was quick to respond and get our heat on and make sure we were warm and taken care of. We have a lot of respect for him for how he helped us.

Its proximity to Watkins Glen. It was clean.
Check in was not clear.
The yard was not well cared for which interfered with the view. Bushes in front of patio completely blocked the view when sitting in the chairs on the patio. Its too bad because it had a decent view if you cut down the brush.

It was a lovely location with a great view from the two chairs outside. We could walk to several wineries nearby, and just 10 minutes drive from Watkins Glen. Relative to a lot of other properties it was an excellent value. Several previous reviews mentioned construction debris, however we felt that this was greatly exagerrated. There were a few boards in a pile, but nothing worth docking a review for.
In general, we enjouyed our stay and feel that the previous bad reviews are very exaggerated, particularly relative to the cost of properties in the area. I would definitely recommend for a short stay to enjoy Watkins Glen and the surrouding area.
There was an initial issue with the instructions; we were given instructions for the wrong apartment, so we were concerned we had been double-booked. The property answered my call and sorted it right away though. However we were also given the wrong exit instructions and had to clarify that as well so they clearly need to improve their communication with guests.
Overall, the renovations/property felt a little rushed. There were several minor things that could have been improved: the kitchenware felt like an afterthought (not enough mugs/glasses specifically), electrical outlet cover in the kitchen, putting a curtain on the bathroom window (neighboring guests could see you when showering or using the bathroom if they were outside).
