The location was excellent. It is literally a minute from the old port. It was very quiet at night despite being on a busy street with lots of restaurants. There is a supermarket within a 10 minute walk. The tourist office is also 10 minutes away and staff are very helpful. La Rochelle is lovely, lots to see and do, very historic and interesting and the people are very friendly. There are lots of bars and restaurants very close to the apartment.

Like all of Europe this summer, it was very hot which made it very difficult to sleep at night. There was no automatic air conditioning in the apartment but there were fans and a couple of air conditioning units which did help slightly but not much. The weather conditions are out of anyone's control so the apartment owner had made an effort with the fans and air con units. The oven and grill were quite high up and a bit challenging to use if like me you're not that tall, so a small set of steps would be useful to be able to reach. 4pm check in is quite late. I do appreciate that the apartments have to be cleaned but a 4pm check in is nearly the first day of your holiday gone without being able to access your accommodation. Like a lot of European apartments, there is no lift so be prepared to carry your luggage up a couple of flights of narrow stairs.

Cet établissement n'a pas de clim et nous étions au 4émé étage , au vu des vagues de chaleur de plus en plus fréquentes il me parait indispensable de trouver un système de refroidissement adapté a l'appart 35 deg dans l'appart pour 42 deg à l'hombre en extérieur ce jour la .
