King's Apartment

Spacious flat. Kitchen was well enough equipped.. Castle Douglas is attractive town. Pub staff next door helpful and friendly. Many opportunities for hiking in the area. We had a car but we used buses as well. Plenty of small shops nearby + Tesco, Aldi, B&M, Co-op etc. Excellent fish and chip temporary premises round the corner (I think the restaurant was damaged in a fire). Brewery round corner too (untested).

We felt a bit untidy because there was nowhere to put things in the bathroom (no shelves or towel rails) and no hooks for wet coats or keys in the hall. An insignificant thing...but there were no cushions (I am very short so like them). We didn't need TV, but if we had we would have been disappointed because it wasn't 'smart' (I have one at home that is) and new batteries were needed for the remote.

Very convenient location. Comfortable and warm apartment.with excellent bathroom facilities. The lady at Hotel Reception was super-helpful.

Nothing not to like

The house was easy to keep warm in a chilly April spell. Easy to use the central heating program, which is not always the case in short term rentals. Kitchen very well equipped. Beds comfortable.

Lounge could have been cleaner. Breakfast serial on the floor, under the coach and a random piece of fruit stuck to the ceiling! Rest of the house was very clean, particularly bathroom and bedrooms.

TV needs replacing
