Marwhin Cottage is at the end of a long poorly surfaced single-track lane, but the house itself is great. Comfortable, warm and homely, although the lounge chairs could be better. Everything we needed was supplied and in good order. We had a problem with the central heating boiler, but it was sorted quickly with a phone call to the helpful key-holder.The cottage is well located for local attarctions - we visited the lovely Threave Gardens and Nature Reserve and Caerlaverlock Castle. Despite keeping a lookout, we didn't see any red squirrels, but we did get a view of the Northern Lights one night.

Fantastic location, so enjoyed seeing variety of small birds in trees from house then, red kites & buzzards souring around each morning as we stepped out of the cottage. The cottage was probably the best ‘doggy cottage’ we have stayed in over the last 10 yrs. Was very comfortable, clean & fulfilled all our needs. It had true character wished we’d been able to stay longer.

Beautiful cottage , perfect away from it all setting to unwind and enjoy nature . Spotlessly clean and well equipped, would most definitely recommend.
