Tucked away in a tranquil setting on Scotland’s southern coastline, this delightful holiday home invites four guests and their four-pawed companions to enjoy a peaceful escape. The property sits just above the charming village of Auchencairn (1 mile), where Auchencairn Bay offers far-reaching views stretching as far as the Lake District National Park. From here, you can hike to Balcary Point (3 miles), taking in the area’s impressive seabird population along the way. For a traditional seaside experience, visit Red Haven Beach (2 miles), a sheltered stretch of rocky shoreline ideal for picnics with a view. Keen walkers can also explore Screel Hill (2 miles), a modest yet rewarding climb with stunning vistas from the summit, before heading into Dalbeattie (7.5 miles) for a selection of pubs, shops and restaurants.
Surrounded by open countryside and lush greenery, this scenic and restful property is attached to the owner’s home, yet ensures your privacy. Enter through the conservatory, a bright, welcoming space that doubles as a dining area and enjoys uninterrupted views of the garden and beyond. This flows seamlessly into the lounge, where comfortable seating is arranged around a TV and DVD player and a piano, providing plenty of options for evening entertainment. From the hallway, step into the traditionally styled kitchen, a spacious and well-equipped area for preparing meals. Also leading off the hallway are two inviting bedrooms, each paired with its own bathroom. The first is a super-king-size room with a zip-and-link bed that can be configured as twins if required, with access to a Jack-and-Jill shower room shared with the hallway. The second is a comfortable double bedroom with its own en-suite bathroom. Both rooms are bright, thoughtfully furnished and offer ample storage for a relaxing stay.
Step outside via the hallway or conservatory to access the large, enclosed garden, shared with the owners. With a furnished patio, lawned space and lovely sea views, it’s a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Ample private parking is also available.
