Good themed property. An experience but not a picturesque area and no information on local amenities

Great themed house. Had issues with cooker not working but the owner really tried his best to fix. He was away I. Holiday so hard to keep trying to use third party. But he did want to fix it and really cared.

Could have had welcome pack to tell you about local takeaways, how’s to get into York, nearest pharmacy etc. there were two key locks so we didn’t know which o e to use. The email said there would be two keys but only one. Tv was not by Ariel so missed normal tv and had to stream, which at my age is not something I do. Stairs were very steep and small. Shower over bath so hard if you have disabilities. Had issues with cooker tripping electrics but the owner was good in sorting it out.

Would stay again

30 min walk into York city Center, an uber was £6. Very comfortable and clean.

Fabulous stove if you want to cook, but no washing bowl and you couldn’t wash pots in the stone sink.

Magical stay

Everything. The house is amazing, the level of detail is perfect! We loved the motion sensor lights, they add to the magic feeling. Underfloor heating downstairs ✅️🥰 From the moment you step in, there is something new to see. We managed not to disturb Lucifer from his slumber 🫣👌 The bathroom was gorgeous, I loved the green tiles! The detail inside the house is just next level!

Only downside was there was no light inside the microwave when it was on. Made it difficult to use, especially in it's hidden location (which we thought was just a great touch)

Great place to stay, if a bit expensive.

Great attention to detail, not only decoration wise, but nice touches like motion detector 'candles' for lighting at night. Easy parking nearby. Loved the dog - although with it being Halloween half expected it to bark :)

Maybe keep cooker switched on at wall, so automatic sparker for gas hob works............ Took me a while to suss out what the problem was......

The amount of detail was amazing, we came at night and it was scary but in a good sense, we felt transported to another century so the experience was amazing

It was cold downstairs as there were no radiators, so maybe an electric one could have helped. Upstairs was perfect

Great place to stay

Brilliantly themed house, with lots of little touches that you keep noticing. Great location that's walking distance to the centre of York with a bus stop round the corner. Very well appointed kitchen with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Suggestions not complaints. Needed a hook for handtowel in bathroom. Front bedroom lamp needed a new globe. Bedding was too hot for the season. Sheet & blankets might have been better.

Quality quirkiness, great gothic atmosphere, perfect for York.

If you are looking for a Gothic, somewhat quirky place to stay, this has it all. Would be a great place to spend Halloween with close friends. The beds have top quality mattresses, everything is of high quality, and the attention to detail was excellent. Serious nods to Harry Potter and to all things magical.

This was of minimal importance, but the master bedroom was rather hot, and the security locks prevent opening the windows more than a couple of inches. A fan might be a welcome addition. Also, open the bathroom window and the air flow improves.

We thought this would be an experience to stay 1 night and I wish we had booked for longer.

This place is fantastic, what a comfortable stay we had. The kitchen is well equipped and all amenities needed were available. Large table perfect for games night to really soak up the atmosphere of the property.

A perfect escape from the mundane

We absolutely adore this little house and don't want to leave yet. The attention to detail is fantastic and I'd struggle pick a favourite room. The bed is very comfortable and I slept really well. We definitely want to return during Christmas or spooky season. Thank you for all your hard work creating something so magical 🪄

Magical mystical comforts!

What’s no to like about staying here. It was the most remarkable place we’ve ever stayed! So much attention to detail and thoughtful design choices. I could never just sit while there. I always wanted to look for cute new things- like the little wooden mouse above the door. I never wanted to leave. Also, the bed was so comfortable that I found the tag and want to purchase the same kind for my house. I slept so well there! The owners are also very responsive! Thanks for the most rememberable stay ever!!!

Seriously witchy stay with my two kids 16 & 8yolds 👻

All the attention to detail, felt so realistic that I had to keep reminding myself it’s a theatre setting! Got some amazing photos with all the props and my kids haven’t stopped talking about it since. Would 100% recommend and be prepared to be quite spooked on the first night atleast!

The complimentary coffee wasn’t to my taste however you’re not far from shops and we just requested a Deliveroo order of shopping for ease 🙂
