Great location, warm and lovely property

Loved the comfy sofa, spacious area for two people and big bathroom. Great location, a couple of great walks into the city centre and cheap uber if you didn’t want to walk anytime.

The mattress was not to our taste and felt a bit like it needed replacing.

Excellent stay, convenient location, lovely hosts and a generally nice clean place.

It was neat and tidy, well located and the hosts made it absolutely easier and comfortable to check in. The parking was easy and the amenities in the bathroom were nice for me (they were male focussed products). There as also small things like an ice tray already filled and ready when we go there which was lovely.

There was some recycling and rubbish left in the bin, and also a nespresso machine for coffee, but no pods to use (we just bought some, but was a surprise when we got there as one or two would be nice to have for the first morning.) There was also a sign requesting we wash up all of our things, which we are happy to do, but no sponge provided.

Cosy, warm, gorgeous & spacious. Perfect little city holiday.

Spacious and perfect for a couple. Only a 20 minute walk to the city centre (there were also plenty of buses) the parking was easily arranged with the host. The host was very helpful and answered any questions we had.

The bed could do with a memory foam mattress topper but it’s alright if you’re only staying for a couple days. Ideally needed to be provided with bin bags (we had to buy some).

perfect few days away

it was self catering. the location was perfect for us and the property was everything we wanted in a quiet street with a back yard and parking was arranged by the hosts. the property had everything in it comfy bed towels fully equiped kitchen even a one stop shop 100 yards away

Great short stay in York with very tricky stairs

Great for a couple that can navigate stairs. House was very clean and was great to relax after a day exploring York. Communication was great with the owner with off street parking organised for us by the owner. Everything was there if you wanted to cook but we wandered down to the local pub for evening meals.

Being very picky some new pillows would be great and some pegs to hang our washing out but that’s being picky.

Mixed opinion

The property is adequate for a couple. The sofa is very comfy. Thought the bed was very comfortable, too. The bathroom is spacious and bright.

Well : * stairs ... they are extremely steep, and this should be advertised in description. In my opinion they're dangerous. There is no landing between bathroom and bedroom, so you have to step down and back up with no rail to hold on to. The steps are steep and narrow ( I had to walk down sideways ). At the bottom of the stairs, where they turn into the kitchen is hardly any step at all. I managed to loose my footing injuring my lower back, top of my spine and my ankle. ( couldn't walk, so missed out on pre-paid activities ) * The property isn't as clean as it appears, just things like taps and sinks, skirting boards. Kitchen cupboards, especially inside they were visibly sticky and grubby * Inventory. This definitely needs to be checked regularly. It states toilet roll there was a tiny bit on a roll, there was only 1 fork, but about 10 knives, no Scissors, no washing up liquid, no free toiletries, no spare bin bags, kitchen roll, no cleaning items The casserole type glass dish needs a really good scrub. * Bearing in mind, we stayed over one of the hottest weekends of the year the heating kept coming on. Also it states that its a short walk into york City Centre. it is actually a 30-minute walk, which should also be advertised so people with mobility issues can get a bigger picture. * And finally ants. In the kitchen on work surfaces loads around radiators in living room and kitchen. I did message owners, but, for some reason didn't receive my message until Sunday at which point we had decided to leave. Personally we ( hubby and I), would not stay there again. Sorry

The bed was a bit annoying cause of it being two mattresses pushed together. I was also a little disappointed that there was no coffee for the coffee machine. Other than that amazing

It was sufficient for our needs. Good shower and quiet neighbourhood.

When I arrived the house hadn't been cleaned, dirty bed linen and towels on the bedroom floor. No bed made. I did call the host and it was rectified, just disappointed to find after a 4 hour journey. The carpet was tatty and it was a little cold but we couldn't activate the heating. Concerning that none of the electrical goods had upto date PAT testing, most were done in 2020!

Short and sweet stay!

We stayed one night. Location a 20 minute walk from York city centre. Local shop nearby. Nice size bathroom. Kitchen has a good level of facilities. Hosts allowed us to access the property earlier than usual (12pm instead of 5pm).

Bit of confusion regarding keysafe number - code sent by Booking.com did not work but hosts gave correct number when contacted. It would be nice to be able to leave a little later on the day of departure.

Great commutation from the property owners. Allowed us to check in early to get changed then go to the races which was a great start saved a lot of rushing around. Property was perfect for a couple everything you needed even a little yard to sit out in the sun. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Ideal location for the race course and equally for getting into the city centre. Nice quiet road with free parking for residents.. again another tick. Found the price also fair for a bank holiday weekend.

Lovely little house in a good location, approx 15-20 minutes walk to the city walls along a busy road. Property was clean and cosy for a short weekend break. Good to have parking permit included.

The street parking is only available on one side of the road and there are houses on both sides so this could be a problem. (We got the last available space at the far end of the street from the property). There is nowhere to stop outside the house to unload as you would be blocking it and it is quite a busy side street. The stairs in the house are steep and narrow and for anyone with mobility or balance problems these stairs would not be easy to use. There is no landing between the bedroom and bathroom door and you have to step either across the top of the stairs or step up and down the stairs, personally we thought it was quite unsafe. (Can't understand this has not been mentioned by other users or the homeowner). The bed is 2 singles pushed together, (not a standard double bed).

Nice and cosy apartment close to the centre. It has a big and clean bathroom and a very nice bedroom. Free Parking space just autside the door! Perfect location both for short and long stays at York! We will come back!
