About this apartment rental

Our holiday home is in a superb location in Paihia with spectacular sea views overlooking one of Paihia's most popular swimming beaches.

It is only 10 minutes walk along the waterfront to the village and a great selection of shops, cafes and restaurants although guests usually prefer to dine on the deck and enjoy the outdoor furniture, superior bbq, electric awning and stunning views!

The split level home is elevated quiet and private. It contains two bedrooms that are well separated and in the second bedroom you can choose to have either twin singles or a super king. There is a fully equipped kitchen with walk in pantry, a spacious lounge with leather settees and breathtaking views of the Bay or native bush from all areas of the house. ALL LINEN AND TOWELS ARE PROVIDED.

This house is perfect for two couples or a family of up to five
where the double sofa bed can be used in the lounge.

Extras include Sky TV (with movie and sport channels!), WiFi, CD and a selection of novels, games and puzzles. These will help to make your Bay Of Islands holiday a very memorable one.

The ocean views were amazing! Falling asleep to the sound of waves was a joy. The house is beautiful with huge windows and decks on 2 sides and was well stocked. Comfortable beds, great shower, toilet separate from shower/tub room, clean, new appliances. It was a great jumping off point to see the Treaty Grounds and museum, a boat ride to Hole in the Rock (we saw whales!), and a drive to Cape Reinga.

We stayed at this lovely home during Cyclone Tam. If you have to be storm stayed, this is the place to do it. Lovely, clean, well appointed, and spacious with incredible views. Host was so kind and even brought us a portable stove during power outage. Would definitely stay again.

From the moment we arrived my husband & I knew the home would be perfect. The views are magnificent. Location is excellent. We walked everywhere including to the grocery store, restaurants & shops. You just need a car for excursions. The beach at the bottom of the hill is lovely for swimming The home is so clean, organized & comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked & there are plenty of towels & linens. We met the owner Kay upon arrival & her hospitality was superb! We felt this was our home away from home. It was sad to leave & we’d go back in a heartbeat. We’ve been renting homes through VRBO for over 20 years & we were so happy with this one!!

Kay’s place is awesome! The view cannot be beat, the entire place is meticulously clean, and the couches/beds are very comfortable. We had a relaxing week at Kay’s, and we loved staying within walking distance to town, the beach, and the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. Never used the kayaks, but we appreciated having plenty of towels for the beach or bath. Also, the kitchen included all of the cooking supplies we needed, and the BBQ was spotless (as well as the whole house). We were in NZ for 5 weeks, and this definitely was our top place. Thank you, Kay!

We spent 3 nights here to unwind a bit after a two week hiking trip of the South Island. We could not have picked a better place. It had everything we needed. Amazing views from all the rooms and we never even used the car. Walked all over, to Paihia and the ferry to Russell. Even walked to the Treaty Grounds for the tour. Kay was very welcoming when we arrived and it was so private we never saw them again. I highly recommend this property.

My husband and I and our two 10 year old daughters went to Paihia for three nights and Kay’s place was perfect. Plenty of room, cozy, super clean and amazing views. The location is perfect, an easy walk to Countdown, shops, restaurants and the pier and an easy drive to Waitangi, the Russell car ferry and nearby towns. Unfortunately we didn’t cross paths with Kay but all communication was clear and timely. Highly recommend and would definitely return.

This apartment was spotlessly clean. It was beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything that you would need. Dishes, towels, bedding. It has a large soaking tub and large shower. Easy walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Also a short walk to the beach. It even has kayaks for guest use. The hosts are helpful and they answered questions quickly. Everything sounds good right? But wait there’s more. The view is amazing! The front part of the apartment is all windows with views of crystal clear blue water, islands and the beach. It is especially beautiful at sunrise, but there is no bad time for this view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. 5 stars. Highly recommended.

This property is outstanding on all fronts. The hosts, Kay and Wayne are very welcoming, leave you to your privacy but are on hand if needed. They allowed us to check in early and check out late. The property is even better than the photos. No expense is spared on furninishings and it has everything you will need. It is located perfectly, just ten mins from the town and very quiet. We explored the area and some of the islands. It's stunning and we cannot wait to return!

This was the most beautiful, comfortable and clean rental we could have asked for; when we walked into the living room, we literally gasped at the stunning view. It's even more beautiful than the pictures show. Kay thought of everything we might need. Lots of soft linens and towels, the kayaks which we took on some great adventures with access right down the street, good quality kitchen supplies, complimentary milk and coffee, games, TV and strong wifi, it goes on. The beds were very comfortable and it was nice to have the kids' room down the hallway for some privacy. It's a gorgeous 10 minute beach walk into town with restaurants, ice cream and a small grocery store and shopping, and a 2 minute drive to a bigger grocery store. There's a playground at the beach in front of the house. We cooked most nights on the BBQ and ate out on the deck overlooking the ocean. The view from the primary bedroom is amazing, what a way to wake up! The location within Piahia is perfect, a bit away from the town and off of the main road, but close enough to walk most places you wanted to be. 10/10 Kay, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us!

The house is tucked away behind other houses in the bay and the open plan kitchen and lounge which open on to a terrace has brilliant panormic views. We stayed with our two young girls who loved the house and short walk down to the beach. The house is really well equipped with everything needed for self catering even kayaks and life jackets!
