The location was good with good transport links and shopping centre nearby. Plenty of towels and sufficient crockery for two and it was very clean.

The facilities were adequate for us as we prefer to be out and about but we appeared to be on the same boiler circuit as the property next door so there wasn’t a lot of hot water. Washing up in the bathroom sink was a bit tricky for dinner plates so would recommend a washing up bowl would help.

The property was ideally located for our weekend plans in Edinburgh, with excellent transportation links in close proximity. It was clean and beautifully presented.

Locating the entrance to the property was a little more difficult than I anticipated from the photo and directions given - extra detail would have saved us some trouble.

Advertised as having 1 parking space. Owner’s family member blocked driveway with car, we did not know if overnight street parking was permitted, parked in marked spot a few blocks away. Owner’s family member finally answered our text to say street parking was ok, but for several hours before, we worried about being towed. Owner’s car did not move until the day we left. Was advertised as “apartment” but it had no kitchen, only a microwave and a dorm-size fridge. No stove or kitchen sink. Only place to put kettle to boil was on the floor (only plug not in use). Had to wash dishes in the bathroom sink and then clean food bits out. No place to drain washed dishes -had to use the bath towels provided. Location was far from city center, and the available eating establishments listed were few, not great, and a long walk. With that distance we would have been fine with self-catering but lack of a kitchen made this very impractical. There were busses available on the street, but we had no knowledge of which bus lines they were, or how to get to the city center by bus. Owners should at least have provided info on what bus lines serve that street, or info about park-and-ride. We drove to the city center and parked at great expense. Bed was a double, but was up against the wall, Whoever was sleeping on the “wall” side, if they had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, had to climb over the other (sleeping) person to get out of the bed.
