I was in the property for less than 3 hours before deciding to leave and find alternative accommodation at 10pm on a Friday night. Reasons detailed below. -Very strong odour of food/cooking throughout the property that hits you as you walk in. In the short time I was at the property the smell had already soaked into my hair and clothes. Not mentioned in the booking description. -The room is a spare room in a very noisy property. Host explained she had family visiting so noise is to be expected throughout my stay but she will try to keep to a minimum. In the few hours I was at the property all I could hear from the bedroom was loud, screaming, crying young children having fallouts and tantrums. Not mentioned in the booking description. -You are not allowed to wear shoes past the front door so have to take your shoes off in the front porch and leave amongst the families shoes scattered all over the floor. Not mentioned in booking description. -A cat has free rein of the property including the bedroom/accommodation you book. When being shown to the bedroom the cat entered and I had to stop it attempting to get on the bed and shoo it out of the room. Not mentioned in booking description. -Bathroom is shared not only with another guest bedroom, but with the hosts family and was described by the host as the ‘shared family bathroom’ of the property. Not mentioned in the description the extent of a ‘shared bathroom’ especially with extra family visiting and sharing the bathroom with you. Overall, extremely dissatisfied with the booking and a lot more should be done to ensure the description is more detailed and accurately reflects the accommodation.

Pleasant accommodations away from the city bustle and near the beach

The location was about a 30-minute bus ride from the city center, but the bus stop was very close, and it was nice being within walking distance of the Portobello area. The host was delightful and provided helpful recommendations for how to spend my time in Edinburgh. The accommodations were pleasant and well-appointed.

The bed was not particularly comfortable, but I slept fine, so I guess it could've been much worse.

Awesome accommodation, a place to go back!

Aisha deserves 5 stars (or even more!!). 1st review of many here we hope, she’s an absolute local star! The house is huge, superclean, superconfy and she did everything she could to improve our staying in Edinburgh. Our trip was even better thanks to her! And Lily (her cat) is the nicest cat ever! Sweet hearted animal that was welcoming us every time we were back from sightseeing! The house is very well communicated by bus to the city center in a quite area. It was very easy for us to move around and still enjoy a good quiet night. If you are lucky to stay at Aisha’s, make sure you ask for her recommendations, they are top notch! She’s a true star! 100% recommended!
