Allards Apartment, Central Tynemouth

Location excellent. Do visit Northumberland park.

The owner responded to all messages promptly prior to and during the rental. The bed was very comfortable, bathroom was equally good and access was easy with the lock box. Plenty of nice restaurants within a few minutes walk as there are pubs. The location is excellent and you probably couldn’t find better if you want central Tynemouth. Car parking was free and the owner supplies a parking permit which gives 24/7 free parking outside the property. Make sure to use it as the traffic wardens are very active in the area.

We felt the overall cleaning of the property wasn’t of the standard we would expect at this price point. In particular bins had a lingering smell where they may have had the bag changed but not washed out regularly. The fridge could also do with a good clean on the shelves and the dishwasher had a smell of stagnant water/rotten food (this was remedied by cleaning out the filter and putting it on a very hot wash empty of dishes (however, you shouldn’t have to do this). There is a bar/restaurant downstairs where you get a discount (Allards). Couldn’t comment on the food as after waiting 15 minutes for two drinks (there were only three other couples in the place at the time) and then watching the waitress scratching her backside prior to handling our drinks it made our decision to leave an easy one. Shame really as it is a great location and a large venue.

The location is absolutely perfect. The apartment is modern and clean, with everything that you need. Loading bay directly outside and parking permit is included as well. Great communication from the host.

Shower - temperature gauge is broken (host aware and will fix). Noise from apartment upstairs but only footsteps etc which is to be expected.
