On a quiet road overlooking the Rive Tyne, with views of the river and passing boats through the trees. We visited on a hot weekend in June'26 and the large Georgian windows in the lounge / bedroom / bathroom provided great ventilation, in the large spacious rooms, allowing for a very comfortable stay. Within a 10-minute walk of the front door you can be either entering the main street of Tynemouth village, with the bars & restaurants, or you could be on the path leading to the excellent promenade walkway along the River Tyne, either heading to Tynemouth priory at the entrance to the North Sea, or for a walk inland up the river bank to the bars and restaurants of North Shields Fish Quay. On our first full day we chose to do a great walk along the excellent sea promenade north up the coast to Cullercoats, Whitley Bay and St Mary's Island lighthouse. On our second full day we took the short walk to the Tyne & Wear Train Metro station and travelled the 30-mins into Newcastle city centre (a day rover ticket £7.50 each). We had a great walk around the city centre sights and along their famous walkway along the River Tyne, finding their excellent Sunday lunchtime 'Foods of the World' market on the river side. Over our 3 nights we ate out each evening, walking out on foot to North Shields Fish Quay 'Waterfront Fish & Chip Restaurant', the Tynemouth village's 'Gibraltar Rock' Bar Restaurant and then on the Sunday evening at the Tynemouth sea front 'Castle Inn' hotel and bar restaurant. Good food each night. Our 3-night stay was very enjoyable both in terms of the overall venue, it's position, the weather, the options of places to walk, and for the accommodation, which provided everything you needed in very comfortable and very spacious accommodation. We would recommend it for anyone wanting a good coastal weekend break or a full weeks break.
Nothing worth a mention.

Great location and on the surface a lovely flat just needs a bit more care and attention
Wasn’t clean enough . Dog hairs all over the sofas we had to immediately hoover off. Dishwasher was completely unemptied and full on our arrival. Shower door broken , peeling paint on some walls. Weird damp musty smell in main bedroom. Also would have been nice if garden grass was cut - weather had been dry and sunny in previous week.
