The central location made it easy for us to go from one place to another during our 1-week stay in Cape Town, even though the neighbourhood does not offer that many things for tourists to visit and see. The apartment also have all the supplies one might need to spend the days there.
First of all, the accomodation doesn't have air conditioning (which we already knew from the reservation), but it does not have any fans either. I imagined that the city used to be cool in past times, but the host should have in mind that we are living in "warmer" times, and it became VERY DIFFICULT to sleep in there once the sun has set. My family only managed to sleep at 1 am every day, when it was a bit cooler with all the windows opened. Not that pleasant. And lastly, but not less importantly, there were many coackroches (the tiny type) around the apt. During the day you wouldn't see them, but as soon as the night fell, they started walking around, specially in the bathroom and around the dining table. The host was kind enough to show their worries and tell me they had the accomodation sanitized before we checked-in, but that didn't solve the problem for our visit. We even made a competition among us as to who would kill more roaches in a day: the record was 7 (in ONE day).
