Garth House York

It was a great location, very close to the centre of York. I had planned to use the car park nearby but didn't need to in the end. The finish was modern and simple - good space for one or two people.

Lovely property which was very handy to walk into town. It was all pretty new and clean.

We had booked for 3 adults sharing and when we turned up there was only a double bed and a couch which was not a sofa bed. After contacting the owner a make shift bed was brought in which was not comfortable at all but was better than nothing. Although it states there’s parking there’s not really. We booked a private parking space which was about a 15 minute walk away

On our first night, the neighbor knocked loudly on the floor at approximately 7:00 PM and again at 9:00 PM, despite the fact that we were only speaking at a normal conversational volume. At 10:00 PM, he came to our door to tell us to keep the noise down. On the second night, the floor-knocking repeated while we were again just talking normally. We ended up speaking in whispers for the majority of our trip just to avoid conflict. As two women traveling alone, having a stranger confront us at the door late at night was intimidating and made us feel unsafe. We were unable to relax or enjoy the space we paid for. Also my pillow had dried blood stains on them as well as the bed sheets. We also only had 1/2 a toilet roll for the stay which finished last night and we didn’t have any for this morning.
